Good morning all!
Father, I pray whatever season of life we find ourselves right now I ask that
we would find hope in You. That You would cause us to look up and see a bright future full dreams and
desires, new dreams that we might not have dared to hope for before. I pray we never limit the power of Your
love or the reach of Your hand, thank You Lord for the hope that is ever before us, Amen. Have you ever
whispered those words while you’re praying, what’s the point? Sure, we all have but I think it’s time to silence
those thoughts, got hope?
Isaiah 66
Isa 66:8 KJV – Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made
to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought
forth her children.
Have you ever heard of such a thing? Or seen such a thing? Is the earth gonna be birthed in one day? Or
an entire nation at one time? Zion is gonna go through some stuff and then give birth to children.
Isa 66:9 KJV – Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to
bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.
Do you think you’ll be pregnant and not have the child? Says God: and once you have the child, do you
think I’m gonna shut the womb? Says God.
Isa 66:22 KJV – For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me,
saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
The same way I make a new heaven and a new earth which REMAIN, says God, I’m gonna do the same
for your family and You.
Isa 66:23 KJV – And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath
to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
It happens from one full moon to the next, and from one Sunday to the next, ALL flesh will worship
before ME, says God…really I promise.
Bottom line
This is such a powerful message of hope that God has given us today. Israel has been in captivity
by Babylon for 70 years, I bet they prayed that prayer at some point during those 70 years…what’s the point?
This is the last chapter in the book of Isaiah and God gives them a beautiful message of hope, He speaks to
them nine times in this chapter…saith the Lord, just in case you didn’t hear Him the first time-Ha! I hope you
can see the love of the Lord this morning, He says after this season of captivity in your life He’s going to birth a
new hope that we’ve never heard or seen before…it’s a brand new hope. And He uses the beautiful picture of
a child being born, does anyone give birth to a child in one day? Last time I checked it takes nine
months…hmm, you suppose that’s why the Lord spoke nine times? How awesome is our God? And just like
the expecting parents full of hope for nine months, they have a favorable expectation that the day will come
and that which has not been heard or seen will BE. The day comes and now you’re holding that new born child
in your arms completely overcome with waves of emotion and everything you imagined has become real.
Should we have a favorable expectation of God? Psa 33:18 NIV – But the eyes of the LORD are on those who
fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. Of course we should, God expects us to have hope in
His UNFAILING love. Wherever you’re at right now, God has NOT failed you! What kind of relationship do you
suppose God wants with us? One that sees Him as a failure or complete disappointment in Him? Hos 2:16 NLT
– When that day comes,” says the LORD, “you will call me ‘my husband’ instead of ‘my master. Most of us
grew up in church knowing good and well He was our Master, but God is looking for a whole lot more in our
relationship with Him. He says the day will come and we will call Him MY husband…wow! What is the role of a
husband? Do you expect him to walk out the door in the morning and fail to provide for the family? Do you
expect him to not put himself in front of his wife and family in the face of danger? When does the husband
stop loving his family? Come on now, this is the story of Hosea, the husband that never stopped providing for
Gomer, never stopped protecting her and never stopped loving her…thank You Lord. Our God is the greatest
Husband, His unfailing love wants nothing more than to make His wife’s hopes and dreams come true. And so
we’re clear, it’s not one dream and you’re finished. He said after He gives birth to new hope, He doesn’t close
the womb. What happens next? He gives birth to a new hope. Psa 71:14 KJV – But I will hope continually, and
will yet praise thee more and more. We should hope CONTINUALLY, just like Journey sang “don’t stop
believing”. When we don’t have hope, we give up on God, we give up on our relationship. It’s like telling God, I
know you’re MY Husband but I have NO expectation of you…what’s the point? God and hope go hand in hand,
hope is the active ingredient in our relationship with God. Come on now, you know God doesn’t want us to
see Him as a failing husband. Eph 2:12 NLT – In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were
excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had
made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. Our God has MADE promises that He
intends to keep, when we don’t believe that we live in this world without God and without any expectation
that He will make good on those promises…no hope. But thank God he says it will come to pass from one full
moon to the next, how often do we have a full moon? Every 30 days, how beautiful? Don’t worry about the
moon you may have missed yesterday, a new one is right around the corner…new hope. What do you see
when you see the moon? Psa 89:37 KJV – It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness
in heaven. Selah. Go ahead and give God your hopes and dreams, He’s a FAITHFUL witness…He won’t
fail…that’s the point!
Point to Ponder
Where’s your moon? Rev 12:1 KJV – And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman
clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: We’re
standing on the it, it’s the only true foundation we have in this world.
I pray we all live with this hope today and always, In Him Phil
