Good morning all!

Father, we know that You are so much bigger than we can imagine, You see far beyond our reason and logic, and all we might imagine. We pray, Lord, that You would be magnified through our life and that the world would know that You are bigger than all we see and all we face, Amen.

Psalm 34

1 [[[A Psalm] of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise [shall] continually [be] in my mouth.
David wrote this when he faced the enemy and changed the way he acted. I will thank God ALL the time and that is the only thing that will come out of my mouth.

2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear [thereof], and be glad.
My life will brag only of my God, the HUMBLE will hear it and get it and be happy.

3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Let US MAGNIFY God together and let US raise Him above all others.

4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
I don’t waste my time looking for anyone else to help me and He delivered me from ALL my fears.

Bottom line

So how did David change the way he behaved and why did God take issue with it?

[1Sa 21:13 NLT] So he pretended to be insane, scratching on doors and drooling down his beard. When faced with a crisis he PRETENDED to be something he was NOT. Hmm…maybe God takes issue when we live like something less than a child of God. Scripture says when David faced the king of the Philistines he was “sore afraid” which means to be gripped with fear, so he acted like a complete nut. Have you ever forgotten how much God loves you? Did you ACT differently? Did you lose hope? I think that’s what happened to David, he faced a difficult situation and didn’t see a way out, so he took matters into his own hands and acted like something less than what God had created him to be. Simply put David FORGOT about God, I mean if God gave David the power and wisdom to kill Goliath the champion warrior of the Philistines why would he be scared now? As though God would save him then only to have him to be killed now by a lesser hand. I hope you can see this, but I think we all have moments in life where God is a bigger part of our life and then there are times when we don’t even speak His name, you feel me? You know what happens when we forget about God?

[Job 8:13 KJV] So [are] the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish. No matter what path we choose in life if we don’t include God, we become the hypocrite and when that happens you will feel hopeless. Now when the Bible speaks of a hypocrite what is that? Say one thing, do another? Pretty much, I know God, but I don’t listen to Him, or I just forget about Him through my choices in life. The word hypocrite means the actor, we act crazy like God don’t exist and we lose sight of heaven. Now, did God forget about David? Of course not, scripture says you’re engraved upon the palm of His hand…meaning we are always the workmanship of God’s hand, that is His full-time job to mold and shape us into the men and women He’s created us to be. Nothing happened to David, even though he forgot about God and acted insane, but God did not forget about him…God saved David…He remains faithful when we don’t. This Psalm really is a song of repentance, he is now acting in his right mind and thanking God and telling us to MAGNIFY the Lord with him…sound advice coming form someone who has just been taught a valuable lesson, don’t you think? So how do we magnify the Lord? We have to make Him a BIGGER part of our life NOT smaller or God forbid forget Him. I mean we only shrink Him in our mind it doesn’t make it true, we’re actually living a lie when we do that. After all how big is God?

[Psa 95:4 NLT] He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. So can we shrink God? Yikes…now that seems BIG…if the depths and the heights are in His hands…your highs and lows…nothing can escape His grip so act like it. Did you notice how many of David’s fears he was delivered from? ALL!!! Do you have any fear? Worries? Uncertainty? Then SEEK God, look for Him to move in your life and give Him a bigger place, bigger priority, bigger hope and never FORGET His love for YOU!

Point to Ponder

Are you in your right mind? [Luk 8:35 KJV] Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: Kind of hard to forget Jesus when you sit at His feet, don’t lose sight of Him or you will lose your mind-Ha!
