Good morning all! Father, our prayer today is that You send Your rain to refresh the land. To pour out the heavens and flood the earth, to wash away every worry, every doubt and every fear. Let us drink in the fountain of life that You’ve made known to your sons and daughters, and allow us to pour it back out and quench this dry land, Amen. Have you ever had that unquenchable thirst? You drink and drink but nothing seems to satisfy. Are you thirsty?
Isaiah 55
Isa 55:1 KJV – Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
EVERYONE…that’s all of us this morning, come to this flowing river even if you’re broke, come BUY, and eat; come BUY wine (revelation) and milk (foundational truth) which requires NO money and that’s because it has NO price.
Isa 55:2 KJV – Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Why spend money on the things that provide no strength? Work for the things that provide NO real satisfaction? Listen to ME, eat what is GOOD for you, and your soul will be satisfied with blessings.
Isa 55:3 KJV – Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Lean in with the intent to learn and when you truly hear ME you will find life; I will make a promise that can’t change and will NOT end, just like the love I have shown My son David.
Isa 55:4 KJV – Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
Look I have given you folks a Witness that you can model your life after, He’s a leader and knows how to command His troops.
Bottom line
We all get thirsty, the question is…whatcha gonna drink? Of course it’s a Pepsi-Ha! Okay…spiritually speaking. What can you drink that would actually satisfy your soul and not leave you feeling empty ever? Does such a drink exist?
Deu 11:11 KJV – But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: It will if you drink in Heaven, it’s the only thing in this life to satisfy your soul. And did you notice God said hills and valleys…your ups and downs…come on now. Tell me God isn’t good all the time, who gets to drink from these waters of life? EVERYONE!! What’s the qualifier? You gotta be THIRSTY!!! Thirsty for heaven…and why not? Your money is NO good when it comes to these waters, but at the same time you can’t put a price tag on these waters. I guess that makes them kinda valuable? Maybe even life changing if you ask me? Perhaps that’s why my drink starts out as water but them becomes wine and milk. He tells me if we drink from these waters my soul will LIVE, maybe like the fountain of youth? Anybody want some of that?
Psa 65:9 KJV – Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it. Wow! God has a river that’s gonna visit what place? EARTH!! It’s so full it’s overflowing and you can’t contain it and He’s gonna use it to produce a crop. Here’s the thing church, you have gotta thirst for God…His river…it’s full and flowing. Why do we labor and chase the things that can’t really satisfy our soul? We expend so much time and energy for things in this life which will only pass away anyway, why? These pursuits don’t serve an eternal purpose, they will NOT provide any true strength. You know what we all need, right? We need more wine and milk in our life.
Sng 1:2 KJV – Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. Translation the wine you drink should produce love in your life, there is NOTHING better…Amen!
1Pe 2:2 KJV – As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: Will you cry out like a newborn baby looking for it’s bottle? The only way you and I can grow is by the word of God…truth! Who do you think He gave as a witness that drank from heaven? That was the ultimate witness of love and truth? His name is Jesus Christ, the leader of the church and the commander in Chief…Chief of the heavens. How important is heaven in your life today?
Dan 4:26 KJV – And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule. Heaven will become a whole lot more important when you know it rules!!!
Point to Ponder
How many drinks are there? 1Co 12:13 NIV – For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body–whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free–and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. There’s only ONE…everything else is a cheap imitation.
