Good morning, all!
Father, our prayer today is that all would know who they are and how much You love them. Lord, we ask that You would speak more often, more clearly and open our heart to receive Your truth and dispel any darkness that is in our life that would keep us from You, Amen.
Galatians 3
1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
You silly people, who is speaking evil telling you to DO BETTER so that you might be saved? Is the evidence of the cross not witness enough for you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Let me ask you a question, did you receive the spirit of God by NOT breaking the law or because you believe what you heard about the Jesus Christ?
3 Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
Are you that ridiculous to think that your life began in spirit, but now you can make yourselves perfect by your flesh?
4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if [it be] yet in vain.
All that you have experienced, was it for nothing? Your life didn’t get worse, did it?
Bottom line
How many times have you heard you gotta do better? Or maybe you said it about yourself? Nothing wrong with wanting to be a better person or doing better, the issue that God takes with it here is when we think it has anything to do with our salvation or our relationship with Him…O foolish Galatians. Who were the Galatians? Their sin, if you want to call it that, was they were IMMATURE, they cared more about what the world had to say about them than what God said, feel me? And just like the WORLD expects you to have to work for your acceptance, approval and status they thought the same must be true when it came to God…immature thinking. Remember, scripture says My people PERISH for a lack of knowledge which is to say the knowledge of God and His word. Let me ask you a question, if you believe a lie, doesn’t that make it a truth in YOUR mind? Go right back to the garden of Eden, life’s problem began when they believed a lie…who told you that you were naked? In fact, this is exactly why we need the word of God…TRUTH, to dispel the lies we believe and when we don’t know the truth it is also a sign of immaturity…do you still believe in Santa Claus?
[Rom 1:25 NIV] They exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. Amen. God says we have ALL the evidence we need; look to the CROSS it is a finished work of our salvation. When we look to the cross, what we should see is a NEW beginning of our life and NOT an end. Let me ask you another question this morning to try and dispel another lie, do you call God your Father? If you do, did your life begin when your mom gave birth or when God created you? By the way Jesus Christ said when you talk to God, start the conversation with “Our Father”, just in case you weren’t sure. You want more truth?
[Jer 1:5 NLT] I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations. God knew US when? BEFORE the womb!!! And this is why the FLESH will never make you and I perfect or disqualify us for that matter, why? We’re ALREADY perfect! How? In YOUR Father’s eyes. Tell me what father doesn’t think their kids are perfect? If we can comprehend that in a worldly sense, why can’t we understand that in a spiritual sense? You want more truth?
[Sng 4:7 NIV] 7 You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. Whenever I’m feeling bad about myself or perhaps a hot mess this is a great verse, it literally sums up how our heavenly Father sees us…YOU ARE PERFECT!!! How do you and I receive the spirit of God? By doing better or by hearing faith? What is hearing of faith? Simple, do you believe what you’ve heard from this devotion this morning? We do have to believe and accept this truth, don’t exchange the truth for a lie…when we do, we live a life that is void of God and we feel empty inside.
[Rom 4:14 NLT] If God’s promise is only for those who obey the law, then faith is made void, and the promise is pointless. Don’t live a pointless life, believe and hold onto the promises of God…and He NEVER breaks a promise…now that’s a good Father.
Point to Ponder
What is better anyway? [Psa 63:3 NIV] Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. God’s love is BETTER than life…don’t ever let go of it!!!
