Good morning all!
Father, Your truth is the only thing that will NEVER fail us, it is the foundation for all that right and holy in our life. Lord, I pray that Your word continue to change us and transform us into the perfect image of Your Son. We pray that our desires are Your desires, and our heart, Your heart. Amen. How many times have you heard that expression or spoken it yourself? You want to (fill in the blank)? I don’t think so, I don’t feel like it. Do you feel like it?
Isaiah 65
Isa 65:1 KJV – I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
God is sought by folk other than church folk; He is found them even when they weren’t looking: and God said it’s Me, look it’s Me, unto the gentiles that were not called.
Isa 65:2 KJV – I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
I have My arms wide open ALL day to those that don’t listen to Me, they live their life in way that I don’t consider good, they do what they FEEL is right;
Isa 65:3 KJV – A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
They do it right in front of Me as though I have NO influence in their life; I mean they make their sacrifices to me but they do where it FEELS good to them and not in my sanctuary;
Isa 65:4 KJV – Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
They remain among the dead and live among the tombs, they eat that which I have declared unclean for them all in the midst of their worship of Me.
Bottom line
TRUST and MAYBE are diametrically opposed when it comes to a life of faith, trust in God is a total reliance and really has nothing to do with our feelings. Sure we all have feelings, but do you feel like going to work every day? Right, you get up and go anyway because it’s the right thing to do. So why is it when it comes to going to church on Sunday it turns into well, I don’t FEEL like it. Does God get the lesser standard? I mean He did say remember the Sabbath and keep it holy, I think it’s number 4 on His top ten list…just sayin. Now listen don’t get religious on me, you know it doesn’t get you in or keep you out of heaven but it will change your relationship with our Lord and Savior…talk to me. This is where the church is at in this chapter of Isaiah and God is calling them to task, He’s longsuffering NOT ignorant. I love how it starts, He’s gonna be God to someone. You don’t honestly think He’s going to create mankind and then not care at all about how we live and who we serve?
Heb 8:11 KJV – And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. You gotta love scripture church, ALL are going to know God from the least to great…that’s everyone. You see, Israel while they were called by God they didn’t really know Him, they really didn’t trust Him. You know God always has His arms open to us, right?
Jer 29:13 KJV – And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. We all seek Him, we just forget the last part of the verse…ALL my heart. I’ve done a pretty good job for years pursuing Him with half a heart, I guess that explains why I couldn’t find Him. It wasn’t a fail on God’s part, it was the man in the mirror…that guy…drives me crazy. We treat God like the rest of our relationships in life, we base it on how we feel in the moment and not by what His word says. Do you remember what God told Israel right before He gave them the 10 commandments for how they should live with God and man?
Exo 19:12 NLT – Mark off a boundary all around the mountain. Warn the people, ‘Be careful! Do not go up on the mountain or even touch its boundaries. Anyone who touches the mountain will certainly be put to death. He told them to Be careful and DON’T to touch the mountain or else you’ll die. You know what mountain it is, right? It’s a Mt of Emotions. Here’s what I know, my feelings will at times LIE to me but God’s word will not. You want proof? 1Jo 3:20 NLT – Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. I know we all have felt guilty about something, but that’s NOT the spirit of God it’s a feeling that lies to us. And tell me that guilty feeling don’t keep you from God? Maybe it kept you from going to church?
1Jo 3:21 NLT – Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. Church we need to live our life with a bold confidence in God, in His word. You know even as I say that, when have you ever felt confident when your emotional? It’s an oxymoron, our feelings usually deceive us and separate us from God. A life of faith says I may not FEEL like going to church but I’m going anyway, I know I don’t FEEL like forgiving but I will forgive anyway…that’s called Faith and Trust. We trust God and follow His word regardless of how we feel, if not, we’re like the swine in the graveyard that God doesn’t know. The swine is a picture of us when were led by our emotions, according to Ecclesiastes, they are worthless and never really satisfy. When we let our feelings control our life they leads us right into a graveyard because we’re spiritually dead…Don’t touch the mountain!
Point to Ponder
Do you believe? Mar 11:23 NIV – “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Whatever you’re feeling this morning, trust Him to help you and He will do it for you!
Let’s all hold onto our faith no matter how we feel, In Him Phil
