Good morning all!
Father, we know that You alone fill all things according to Your word and You rain on the just and unjust. We pray that nothing get in the way of Your glory and grace, help us to make room for Your will in our life, Amen. Have you ever felt empty and didn’t know why?
Isaiah 24
1 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
Look closely, the Lord is emptying out the earth by turning it upside down and shaking everything into the wind…why?
16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, [even] glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously;
From all over the world we have HEARD songs declaring God and His glory…BUT…all I see is what’s wrong and what I don’t have.
19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
My earth is broken and NOT very stable because my understanding and my faith is broken and I have nothing to show for it.
23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
So God changes the light in which we see our life and He begins to illuminate us from within…Zion…means sunny place…just like His ancients…His truth not mine…thank you Jesus.
Bottom line
Remember, God loves us so if He’s emptying things out of our life that means it was doing more harm than good. And haven’t we all heard songs about how great God is?
[Psa 24:1 KJV] 1 [[A Psalm of David.]] The earth [is] the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. You see the only reason God has to empty our earth is to get rid of what doesn’t belong to Him. God expects the earth to be full of what He placed in it, essentially what He created. Which is?
[Eph 1:23 KJV] 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. He create US…We are the body of Christ and He fills ALL with ALL of Himself, you see there’s a difference between knowing and believing. Everyone knows about God and His Son Jesus Christ but not everyone believes, so God has to empty us of our unbelief so we will live as His body as Christ. How?
[Eph 3:19 KJV] 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Here’s what I see in this verse, step one does your love get past the knowing phase and do people in your life actually feel and see the love of Christ? Step two, if we’re FILLED with God then who doesn’t get our love? I mean I’ve heard of your wonderful songs about God but do you have room in your heart for me? Do you have that kind of fulness? Everything starts with some kind of knowledge but when we truly believe it…we live it. Do you think God is only concerned with our head knowledge? Or do you suppose He expects us to actually live it out?
[Mat 7:21 KJV] 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. NOT everyone that says they know God enters the Kingdom but he that DOETH…lives it. God says the earth is utterly broken NOT just a little broken, our faith is broken. We can go to church our whole life, pray every day, read the Bible cover to cover and still be utterly broken if we don’t love and forgive one another. The Bible speaks about rebuilding the waste places just like when Israel rebuilt the walls and the tabernacle in Jerusalem. You know that’s just a picture of our life right? When our faith is broken our walls are broken…relationships with people in our life and the tabernacle is a picture of our broken relationship with God…so, how do we repair it?
[Isa 58:9 NIV] 9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I. “If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk. Fix your tabernacle first, cry for help…I need change Lord, He says here am I, then do AWAY…change…quit placing burdens (expectations) on people, quit blaming people and quit speaking poorly of others. I mean how else did our walls and our church get broken? In verse 23 God says He reigns in mount Zion, where’s Zion? It’s NOT where it’s who, us when we start to see life His way and not ours…look a little higher.
Point to Ponder
What about the rebuild? [Ezr 9:9 NLT] For we were slaves, but in his unfailing love our God did not abandon us in our slavery. Instead, he caused the kings of Persia to treat us favorably. He revived us so we could rebuild the Temple of our God and repair its ruins. He has given us a protective wall in Judah and Jerusalem. God never abandons, use your protective walls to praise and be at peace with others.
Let’s all be filled with Christ, In Him Phil
