Good morning all!
Father, we know there are battles to experience and battles to be won. Help us Lord to trust You to fight for us, to pursue our enemies when we don’t even see them coming. We know You are our shield and sword and through You comes the victory, Amen. Does God fight? What’s He fighting for?
Exodus 14
11 And they said unto Moses, Because [there were] no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
And the people asked Moses, did you have to take us out here to die as though there were no graves in Egypt? Why did you do this to us?
12 [Is] not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For [it had been] better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
Didn’t we tell you to leave well enough alone and just let is live this life? Better living this life serving Egypt than dying out here in the wilderness.
13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
The Moses told the people, fear NOT, stand STILL and SEE the salvation of the Lord which He will show you today. For the enemies which you see today you will NEVER see again.
14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
The Lord will FIGHT for you, and you will have peace.
Bottom line
I hope you can see it this morning, God is fighting for YOUR heart. This is a promise from God…HE will fight for you. Why does He fight? Is there an enemy we can’t beat or one we don’t know about? NO, it’s not a person in your life…ALL are children of God. The enemy He defeats which we can’t is our yesterdays and tomorrows. Follow, if you look back at your life and SEE failure or regret it’s the same as the Egyptian army pursuing you…you see death NOT life. And when you think about tomorrow and can’t find a way forward it’s the same as facing the Red sea with NO path…it’s called fear and worry. Fear and regret can be very powerful if we let them takeover our mind and thoughts, they will create all kinds of problems and pain for us. This is God’s fight, He tells us in verse 14 the expected outcome…the sign of victory…it’s PEACE. What parent is okay with their child living in torment? God will NOT standby while these thoughts wreak havoc in our life. Let me ask you a question this morning? Let’s say you wanted to find God right now, would you look in your yesterday to find Him? Your tomorrow?
[Job 23:8 KJV] Behold, I go forward, but he [is] not [there]; and backward, but I cannot perceive him. Love scripture, it never lies and never fails…the voice of God…Job finds himself in this very spot, when he’s looking back in life and trying to look ahead he can’t find God. So where is He? The here and now. You know when God disappears from our now? When we see trouble behind us and trouble before us. Again, to state the obvious…how big is your God right now? Do you see trouble in your life or God? Guess it depends on how big you choose to make one over the other. Sometimes in my mind I make my trouble so big it turns God into Houdini…He disappears. Now if we could see just how big God is this morning we would realize there’s no problem or trouble in our life bigger than Him.
[Isa 40:22 NIV] God sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. Oh young grasshopper why do you cry and worry when the One we serve sits above it all and covers us with the canopy of heaven so we might LIVE and not die with worry and regret? Now the first thing God has to do to defeat your enemies is get you out of your Egypt, you know why? It’s holding you captive and won’t let you live the life God has chosen for you, if it was He wouldn’t look to get you out. Not sure what your Egypt is in your mind this morning but I think you do, time to get out. So what should we do once we get out? God already gave us the instruction…DON’T fear…STAND still…and SEE salvation. You know how you SEE salvation? Not matter what you look at in your life you SEE God and His goodness and whatever you do don’t change His name to Houdini.
Point to Ponder
What do you see this morning? [Psa 54:7 NIV] You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes. ALL is ALL, if you still see some trouble take another look…find God.
Let’s all SEE salvation, In Him Phil
