Good morning all! Father, while we may struggle with the things we face, help us to remember your wisdom and mercy is always right. And if we find ourselves in question of all that is right in Your eyes, give us the strength and the faith to trust Your love for us is always right, Amen. While the question itself appears silly, I know there are many times my actions or response to God really implies that very question, is God right?
Psalm 25
Psa 25:1 KJV – [[A Psalm of David.]] Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
You are the only one Lord that I look to, I will elevate all that I am to you.
Psa 25:2 KJV – O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
For I know you are MY God, I will trust NO other…especially me, don’t let my enemies take my victory.
Psa 25:3 KJV – Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
That’s right Lord, anyone that will WAIT on You let them NOT be confused; and those that are confused work secretly in vain.
Psa 25:4 KJV – Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Make me a way, MY only Lord; please teach ME the paths that You walk on.
Bottom line
I’m sure you know the answer is absolute…God is always right!
Psa 119:128 KJV – Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way. And yet for some crazy reason sometimes I think I know better than God, why?
Job 15:31 NLT – Let them no longer fool themselves by trusting in empty riches, for emptiness will be their only reward. There you go folks, we fool ourselves because we trust in EMPTY riches…everything that falls short of keeping our eyes on heaven. Remember what happened to the rich man that encountered Jesus?
Mar 10:22 NIV – At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth. Jesus tells us to trust Him, you know how we do that? We gotta SELL it all and follow Him. We think we can do it our way, which is usually to sell some and follow Him. We think our way is right but that just not the case…either that or God ain’t right. Now this doesn’t happen overnight, God shows us right there in verse 4. What was David’s request? TEACH me. First, it acknowledges the need and second, it acknowledges that we know God is right and we are not. Call me crazy but that sounds like a sign of humility, and call me crazy again but maybe that’s how we acknowledge that God is truly Lord of our life. Remember the story when Jesus asked the question about calling Him Lord?
Luk 6:46 NIV -“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Again, make sense to me. If we’re NOT going to listen to Him why call Him Lord? This is why David asked God for help, he said let NOT my enemies have the victory. So how does God prevent the enemy from getting the victory?
Zep 3:15 KJV – The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more. I hope you can see this, God who is in the MIDST of you…dwells inside you. So, if He cast out the enemies and He’s in you, where do you think he casted the enemy from? Right, inside you. And what is the evidence of this victory? We don’t SEE evil in our life any more. So maybe if we choose to love instead of hate the enemy hasn’t triumphed. And maybe if we forgive instead of not, the enemy hasn’t triumphed in my life. And maybe we can call Him Lord after all because if we love and forgive others, then we can be just like Jesus and walk in victory.
Point to Ponder
Are you on the Lord’s path? Psa 25:10 KJV – All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. If you’re on His path, your life should be a testimony of truth and mercy…don’t let the enemy tell you otherwise.
Let’s all live in victory, In Him Phil
