Good morning all! Father, we know that Your love for us has no limits and it’s not hard to understand by the simplicity of Your word. We pray Lord that You would continue to reveal Your truth, Your promises and Your love. We pray all would know the simplicity of Your truth which can only be found in Your Son Jesus Christ, Amen. Have you ever struggled to try and figure something out, only to find the answer was really very simple? Is it that simple?
2 Corinthians 11
2Co 11:1 KJV – Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
I know you may find me to be a bit foolish but for the love of God I hope you’ll bear with me.
2Co 11:2 KJV – For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
You see I’m jealous FOR you with the same jealously that God has FOR you: you have been promised to ONE husband, and I look to present you pure to Christ.
2Co 11:3 KJV – But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
But I’m concerned that just like the serpent deceived Eve so subtly so too your minds will corrupted away from the SIMPLICITY that is Christ.
2Co 11:4 KJV – For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
There are some that speak of a different Jesus then the One we do, they have a different spirit then the One we have, a different gospel than ours, and you have endured it.
Bottom line
Christ really is that simple, and yet somehow we all end up preaching about a different Jesus, you know? The one other than the true Jesus. And what is so simple that the serpent would cause us to preach otherwise? TRUTH!!! Jesus Christ is the SIMPLE truth of life.
Psa 119:130 NIV – The unfolding of your word gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. You have to UNFOLD His word to find a LIGHT, you know how to UNFOLD His word? SIMPLE…OPEN a Bible and you’ll find a light…His word declares the Lord IS the light of MY salvation…only the SIMPLE will understand that. He didn’t say He was gonna TRY and be your light…HE IS YOUR LIGHT! This is the true gospel, any other word preached that says Jesus Christ didn’t save the WORLD is NOT the true gospel of Jesus Christ…for God so LOVED the world He SAVED it…that’s the simple truth…the end! You and I can’t add to that simple truth, and if we try to do that we’re just like the serpent in Eve’s ear…it’s the half-truth in our head.
Gen 3:4 KJV – And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: God says one thing…which can only be truth since He is that, but the serpent says…that’s not really true, right? You won’t really die if you don’t listen to God? Listen to truth? Remember that game growing up called truth or dare? It was usually played with a group of girls and boys and the girls wanted you to answer the question, do you like Suzy? But the boys would take the dare instead…chickens. It’s really truth or death?
Isa 38:18 KJV -For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. You want to know why God is jealous for us and NOT of us? We don’t accept and live by His truth, He’s NOT a selfish God…He’s a jealous God…He doesn’t want us to live a lesser life, not even a life with halftruth. You know what you get with half a truth
Luk 10:30 KJV – And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Can you be half dead? You can when you strip and wound the Christ in you, how’d that happen? A thief came along and robbed you. You do know what he stole from you right? Half your truth…it’s the truth you don’t fully believe or accept…now you’re naked and wounded. Remember what
happened to Adam and Eve when they listened to the serpent? God found them naked, right? And what else?
Gen 3:15 KJV – And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Uh oh…they were wounded, they had a bruise in their head…accepted less than truth and then it bruised my heel…my walk…the way I live. Of course God is jealous for us…He really loves us and really does want us to live a life of salvation.
Jhn 3:21 NIV – But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God…Simple, believe the truth…live the truth and you will find your LIGHT…Salvation!
Point to Ponder
Why did Paul ask the Corinthians to bear with his foolishness? 1Co 1:18 NIV – For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. Trade foolishness for God’s power…He was jealous enough to endure the cross so that we would be saved.
