Good morning all!
Father, we know Lord that failure is not part of Your vocabulary and Your word and love never fails. I pray Lord that you open our eyes to see Your truth, to see Your grace and help us to see the power of Your transformation in our life and to know that Your plans for us will always prevail, Amen. Is it possible? Can we look at our lives and NOT see failure?
Isaiah 58
Isa 58:8 KJV – Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
The light in you will rise just like the morning sunrise of a new day, you will feel as though you have new life; and YOUR righteousness will always be in front of you and God’s glory covering your back.
Isa 58:9 KJV – Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I [am]. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
Then we you call on God, He will answer and say I’m right here. IF you remove from your life the bonds you place on others, the finger you wag and the foolishness you speak;
Isa 58:10 KJV – And [if] thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness [be] as the noonday:
And IF you will have a heart to help the hungry, and help to heal those that are hurting; YOUR light will rise from the depths of cynicism and YOUR ignorance of darkness will disappear like the noon sun:
Isa 58:11 KJV – And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
The Lord will become your guide ALWAYS, and though the world be in a drought it will have NO effect on you; and you will be like a garden that has plenty of water and fruit, YOUR water fails NOT.
Isa 58:12 KJV – And [they that shall be] of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
And you and those with you will rebuild what you thought was NOT possible: it will be a foundation for the families to come; and you will be given a NEW name, the REPAIRER and the RESTORER.
Bottom line
This is a really cool passage in Isaiah, most of Israel’s prayers and actions were based on what they believed to be failure on the part of God. So, like the omnipotent God that He is when Israel acts out and cries not fair, God immediately dropped everything He was doing to respond to them…yeah, right…that would mean we could manipulate God with our kicking and screaming and He really isn’t sovereign. God’s NOT all powerful just so He can fix everything we think is broken in this world, actually it’s the opposite He’s all powerful so He can BREAK anything that has hold on us that’s not faith. Do we think the righteous prayer is to cry out at the wicked we see in the world?
Job 35:12 NIV – He does not answer when people cry out because of the arrogance of the wicked. If you’re like me I prayed most of my life like that…no wonder why I never got a response, God doesn’t respond to that kind of prayer. Most of my life I treated God like He was a Genie in a bottle, I’d rub the lamp when I needed something and if I didn’t like the circumstances in my life I’d rub even harder…how ignorant was I? Here’s what I see this morning, when we are in need or feel overwhelmed by life circumstances our soul…life…should draw close to God. We should hunger for God and look for Him to HEAL the soul in need, that’s when His light will begin to rise in us…it rises from the depths of ignorance…that’s the obscurity. The Hebrew word for obscurity means adversity, your light that’s inside of you should rise when you face adversity NOT bring more darkness in the land. Living a live of faith doesn’t produce easy street no more than sin produces adversity, so what does?
Ecc 7:14 KJV – In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. Both prosperity and problems in our life come from God not you, and what He’s saying in this verse is NOT to try and find the solution to the adversity we face, instead we should look to find GOD and nothing else besides Him. But if your like me here as well, we want to blame someone for the way we feel when we face life’s adversity…do you suppose we’ll find God with that way of thinking? No, that’s putting forth our finger and saying to God see look at what happened to me as though He’s clueless to anything we experience or face. The adversity we face really should cause us to look within ourselves and ask God for the light to arise in us and see nothing but the power of God in our life NOT failure and NOT sin. After the light comes on our soul is satisfied, and a spring of water is produced that fails NOT…you can always provide water to those around you. When you and I have the flow of God in our life He gives us an official name change, we become the REPAIRER and the RESTORER. What do you think we repair? What if we start with relationships, God first and then the world. What do you suppose we restore? The Path we choose to live on…truth…faith. I pray the spring of forgiveness floods your life for all to drink from and your life of faith brightens the path of everyone you meet.
Point to Ponder
So how does the Bible end? Revelation 22:1 KJV – And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. What a great ending for us all, nothing but pure living water flowing with the goodness of God…looks like there’s NO failure in sight.
Let’s all drink from the well of salvation, In Him Phil
