Good morning, all! Father, what could we say that You don’t already know? Our Father who art in heaven You hold the highest place in our life so we look to You, holy You are the One that has given us a kingdom so Your will would prevail and be seen in the earth. You provide us with all we need, and You expect nothing in return, and any debt we have You forgive it and have given us the power to do the same. You lead us in the path of righteousness for Your names sake, for the sake of Your family, for the sake of us being free. Thank you for loving us and showing us how to love others, happy Father’s Day! Amen.

Acts 27

14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
And upon Paul’s appeal to Caesar shortly after they set sail a massive storm blew in called Euroclydon…too BIG to measure.

22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of [any man’s] life among you, but of the ship.
The men fearing death from this typhoon, but Paul said be of good cheer, for NO man will lose his life but the ship will be lost.

27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
After 14 days of the storm at sea then driven to Adria and at midnight the men could tell they were getting close to an island;

28 And sounded, and found [it] twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found [it] fifteen fathoms.
And as they drew near, they found IT at 20 fathoms: and they went a little further, they sounded again, and they found IT at 15 fathoms.

44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on [broken pieces] of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
The ship was destroyed but every man made it out alive and they ALL escaped to dry land.

Bottom line

Why is it just when you think everything is going smoothly in your life a massive storm you never saw coming pops up out of nowhere and changes your whole world? Perhaps because my so called “world” wasn’t right? It wasn’t best? Perhaps in some way incomplete? You know like something was missing?

[Zec 9:14 KJV] And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. The Lord will be SEEN & God didn’t go WITH…He is the whirlwind, notice it begins in the south…that represents our place of comfort. Everything is going smooth and we’re comfortable with our thoughts, reasoning and logic of who God is and how He fits into our life, you know? But what if there’s more? What if we don’t really know Him? Would He do something that might change how we see Him? What we understand about faith? About why He created us in the first place?

[Act 17:28 NLT] For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring. We don’t EXIST without God, we live and move? Where we going? MOVE us out of our comfort zone, MOVE you from whatever you thought God was and is. Why? We are His offspring…His children. The Greek word for MOVE is an active verb, it means to be set in motion. You didn’t honestly think we could understand and know all there is to know about God? I believe God sends a storm into our life to INCREASE what we know, to INCREASE our faith, to INCREASE our love…our life is always in motion. Even Jesus Christ said foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of man has NO place to lay His head…translation…our thinking and understanding is never finished we are forever learning and experiencing more of God. Remember as we approach Father’s Day and with us being His children, He loves us with absolute abandon and like any Father He will provide and protect His children whatever it takes and sometimes He has to protect us from ourself. How does He protect us?

[Psa 17:15 KJV] As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. He protects us by making us more like Him, we live more like Him, we become His Son. And why? That’s where we get the 2 sounds being made as we approach the island of Melita (revelation) we FIND something, at twenty fathoms we FIND redemption…no longer under the curse of the law instead we live in His grace. And the second sound at fifteen fathoms we FIND that we are set free. Are you a son?

[Jhn 8:36 KJV] If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Notice Jesus said THE Son made you free NOT A son, Christ is the son, it’s corporate, it’s a body, you and I have the heart of Christ beating in our chest that is WHO we are, His offspring. What are we free from?

[Jhn 8:35 NIV] Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. You and I were slaves to sin, Jesus has set us free because slaves have NO place in the family. When did we become slaves? That was the same question the religious folks asked Jesus when He told them they were still slaves.

[Jhn 8:15 KJV] Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. How many people does the son judge? NO man is NO man. And what does a slave judge? People, the flesh, what they see others do. You know how we judge it? When we condemn others for their actions, we say you don’t deserve God’s love, we say you’re guilty…it’s all a slave mentality that holds you prisoner. The answer is never found in the flesh, it can only be found in the son…Jesus Christ. You want honor your Father this weekend, then live and move in His being…be FREE!

Point to Ponder

Anyone remember a guy named Noah who faced the biggest storm ever? [Gen 7:20 NASB95] The water prevailed fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered. The flood was FIFTEEN cubits and it PREVAILED…it won the battle and covered all our mountains of doubt, unbelief, sorrows and pain because our Father loves us and desires, we live FREE from that mess.

Bonus – this is the only time Fathom is mentioned, it’s a measurement, the tip of the middle finger stretched from one to the other…can you see it this morning? A love we can’t FATHOM!!!
