Good morning all!
Father, we know that You are moving in our life. You calm the rivers and dry the seas. Thank You Lord for placing us on a sure place, a firm foundation that can’t be moved by man or circumstances. You alone are the Way when there is no way and the Path when there is no ground, Amen. You ever love somebody so much that you wanted to surprise them with something special? What about God? Isn’t He the Supreme of surprise?
Isaiah 43
16 Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty water
Ever feel like there’s a giant ocean between God and you? Peace? Life? Love?
17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
Why the ocean anyway? It was only to destroy the enemies in our life.
18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
After God removes them…don’t think about them or the past anymore…move on.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert.
God removes the old to make room for the new, it will appear when you least expect it.
Bottom line
First, you gotta know that God loves you in way you’ve never seen before…He is God after all, maker of all things including LOVE.
Eze 16:8 “When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,” says the Lord GOD. Ever feel as though you’re NOT loved? Like you’ve been left abandoned? I know…we keep that one buried. God finds us and says…it’s YOUR time, it’s time that He covers that naked and alone feeling you had, can you imagine God declaring you’re MINE! Wow, I’m holding onto that truth today. I really love this passage in Isaiah, God tells us that He will make a WAY when you and I can’t possibly see or understand how. In fact, it might even look pretty bleak and have you questioning if God even knows you exist because you feel so lost
Amo 8:12 KJV – And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. When we look at our circumstances we usually miss God, it’s not that He missed us but we WANDER from one extreme circumstance in our life to the other. Now are they really that extreme? Usually not, and why is this sea in front of me roaring anyway? To scare me? Torment me? Kill me? Silly…God just told you it was time to start loving you, right? The roaring sea isn’t to kill you…it’s to kill your enemy. God needs a raging sea to drown them just like the Egyptians when they attacked the Israelites. What an awesome picture this morning, the very sea that God makes way for you to walk through is the same one He uses to destroy your enemies. Who’s our enemy?
Mar 7:23 KJV – All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. The enemy is always inside of us, it’s never outside of us…the people in our life. You really think God creates mankind just for us to label them the enemy? God is good to you but not the other person?
Psa 145:9 KJV – The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. God is good to how many? ALL!!! Yeah but what if they’re not nice?
Mat 5:45 KJV – That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. God’s love is NOT performance based…that’s called manipulation, he’s gonna love and forgive us NO matter what. He sends the flood to kill the enemy within us because that enemy tells us that love and forgiveness is based on performance and that has to be destroyed, if not, it will mess us up all day every day. After God destroys the enemy He said a NEW thing would SPRING forth…that sounds like a surprise to me.
Isa 64:3 NET – When you performed awesome deeds that took us by surprise, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you. This is your time for love, get ready because God is gonna come down and surprise you with something awesome…and when He does, I hope you’ll be surprised!
Point to Ponder
What’s good? Psa 136:1 NIV – Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever. 3 things are good…there is a GOD…He can only LOVE you…and it’s FOREVER!
Let’s all be surprised by the love of our Father
In Him, Phil
