Good morning all! Father, thank You for watching over us just like a shepherd with His flock. We know that Your protection and Your provision holds NO fear, let us walk in the knowledge of that truth and know that You alone hold all the power and glory, Amen. What do you worry about? What holds you back? What do you fear?
2 Timothy 1
2Ti 1:7 KJV – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
If you’re scared, worried or have anxiety…God doesn’t believe you should; He gave you a spirit of power, love and self-control.
2Ti 1:8 KJV – Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
Therefore don’t be confused of our Lord’s testimony, nor of me His prisoner: for you will partake of the AFFLICTIONS of the gospel which is based on God’s power;
2Ti 1:9 KJV – Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Who saves us, and calls us to a holy calling, not based on what we do, but based on His plan and His grace, which was given to us in Christ BEFORE the world began,
2Ti 1:10 KJV – But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
But is NOW made real by the appearing of Christ, who put an end to death, and brought life and eternity to light through the gospel.
Bottom line
Have you ever heard the expression a healthy fear? NO such thing. Now, that doesn’t mean I’m going to run around and pick up snakes, that’s called common sense. Here’s the truth, you and I can’t live the life God’s called us to live if we’re running around with fear in our heart.
Psa 118:6 KJV – The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? Think of it, when we have fear how can we honestly say the Lord is on my side? That’s the same thing as the double minded man James speaks about, they are unstable in all their ways…their course of life is all out of whack. The opposite of fear is power, love and self-control, this is the spirit God has given to mankind. So, what is the power God has given you and I?
Job 32:8 KJV – But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. The Almighty One with all the power has given you and I
UNDERSTANDING, without God’s understanding we won’t really love. Why don’t we understand?
Psa 119:73 KJV – JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments. We don’t understand because we don’t know the word of God. Makes sense, right? Shouldn’t we ask for understanding from the One that created us with His own hands?
Isa 66:18 KJV – For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. God knows everything we do and even what we think, I know that’s hard to comprehend but that’s why we read the word of God…without it we’re lost and we do foolish things. Reading it is good, but how do we know if we understand it?
Jhn 8:37 KJV – I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. The scribes and Pharisees knew the scriptures better than anyone, they could quote it all day long, however, God’s word had NO place in them…they didn’t live it. Why did they want to kill Jesus? Hate?
Mar 11:18 NIV – The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching. FEAR, that’s why they wanted to kill Jesus. Now they may have hated Jesus as well but the root of that hate is based on fear, they go hand in hand just like power and love. Why do you think Paul tells Timothy that we are to be partakers of the AFFLICTION of the gospel? Yea…you gotta read the scripture to understand that the gospel comes with affliction, but with the affliction also comes with the power of God. Did Jesus Christ endure affliction? Did He love US? Of course, who for the joy set before Him (insert your name here) endured the cross. And what did Jesus Christ accomplish on the cross? I believe too many things to number, but here in this passage of TRUTH He abolished death…He removed it from our life. Wait a second, people still die? Physically, sure but we serve a God who is spirit and placed that spirit in us so what does the spirit have to say about death.
1Jo 3:14 KJV – We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Anyone that doesn’t love lives in death, you want to abolish death? LOVE PEOPLE!!! What else did He accomplish? He brought life and eternity to light through the gospel…He lived it…He loved mankind. We may tell others all day long what we believe about God but if we don’t love one another, we don’t have the power of God brought to light.
Psa 119:105 KJV – NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. When the word is our lamp, love will light our path…go brighten your path today and love somebody.
Point to Ponder
Do you understand? Mar 12:33 KJV – And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. God’s not looking for all your offerings and so called sacrifices, He wants to see if you understand…love Him and love your neighbor, it’s all the understanding we need.
Let’s all live with power, In Him Phil
