Good morning all!
Father, we know that You alone are just and Your ways will be revealed by Your word. Help us Lord, help us to know we are just by Your Son and Your declaration. Help us Lord to live in that fullness and to live by Your faith so that we would glorify Your name, Amen. What is just?
Luke
Luk 16:3 KJV – Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
The steward said what shall I do, my Lord will not let me remain in His house? I can’t dig and I will not beg.
Luk 16:5 KJV – So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?
Let me call the folks that owe my Lord, I asked the first what do you owe my Lord?
Luk 16:6 KJV – And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
He said I owe a hundred measures of oil. So the unjust servant said, quick change the bill to fifty.
Luk 16:7 KJV – Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.
Then he asked the next the same, what do you owe? I owe a hundred measures of wheat. He told him, quick change it to eighty.
Luk 16:8 KJV – And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
And the Lord praised the unjust steward because he acted wisely; for the children of this generation are wiser than the children of the light…church.
Bottom line
The bible says that God will save the just but the wicked shall perish, so what makes us just? And how do we know if God will save us?
Pro 11:9 KJV – An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. What was the knowledge gained by the just man that caused God to save him? Hmm…well the hypocrite destroyed his neighbor with his mouth, did he eat em? Ha! No, he trashed him with the words spoken about his neighbor. The just man is smart enough to understand that God dwells inside of everyman and it’s not our job to declare all the sin we see in the lives of those around us. The hypocrite and the wicked are the same according to the word of God, they both meet the same fate.
Pro 12:13 KJV – The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. Now what made this servant unjust? We know he was lazy, he said I can’t dig. Can’t or won’t? And then he said he wouldn’t beg? Again, he wouldn’t ask for help? So, what is it that he won’t dig for? Beg for? What do you suppose God expects us to dig and beg for?
Psa 61:7 KJV – He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him. We have to dig for God’s truth and beg for His mercy…what else do you think will save you?
WORD OF PROOF – Pro 25:2 KJV – It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. Definitely in my top 10 bible verses of all time, are we willing to dig just a little deeper to find the true riches of God?
Psa 31:9 KJV – Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly. The cry is always MERCY Lord…beg…He alone will save us. And why do we ask for mercy? My eyes are filled with grief, I don’t see God in my life, yea my soul and my belly seem to be causing me the grief…my thoughts and desires. You ever think there’s no mercy for that one? Or that one thing you did?
Rom 11:32 KJV – For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. Also in my top 10 and for good reason, God came to His own conclusion…that’s right He don’t need our help, He’s going to have mercy on ALL. Which brings us to this unjust steward, when we don’t dig for God’s truth or ask for His mercy to help us walk this life as a just servant we will pull up short. How short? Well the unjust servant was willing to accept something less than 100 measures of the oil and wheat. Now I don’t think God has issue with us forgiving debt or any portion of it, that is a kingdom principle. The servant was willing to accept something less than the full measure…enter the problem.
Eph 4:13 NIV – until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Is 50% of Christ enough? 80%? Accepting less than 100% is what makes us unjust. Until we ALL reach the UNITY…100% of Christ. Now when we think we’re not part of the full measure…I’m unjust in my thinking or if I think 80% is enough, I’m still unjust. The oil and wheat?
Psa 85:10 KJV – Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Wheat=righteousness, oil=peace…what makes us righteous in God’s eyes? Peace, they have to embrace close enough to kiss. You can’t be righteous without peace, the only way to be at peace is to forgive…guess that’s
why God threw in the part about the kiss…
Point to Ponder
What happens if we fall short? Pro 24:16 KJV – For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. Make no mistake the just man is going to fall more than once according to scripture, just don’t fall into mischief…rise again…kinda hard to stay mad and kiss someone.
Let’s just live by faith, In Him Phil
