Good morning all! Father, I pray we start living by the promise of Your word and that nothing will distract us from Your truth. We know that You alone can save, we don’t have the power or understanding without the power of Your spirit. Our prayer today Lord is that our help cometh from the Lord the Maker of heaven and earth, Amen. Have you ever felt that way? You’re looking for help but to no avail? You think maybe God doesn’t hear? Or worse, He can’t help? Where’s the help?
Isaiah 59
Isa 59:1 KJV – Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
Listen, there is nothing wrong with the Lord’s strength or His hearing; He can save you anytime at all.
Isa 59:2 KJV – But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
It would appear we have the issue and our sin has hidden God from us and He will not listen to our foolishness.
Isa 59:3 KJV – For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
It looks like we have blood on our hands and we’re not speaking with righteousness…
Isa 59:4 KJV – None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
Nobody cares about doing what is right, nor looks for the honest truth: they want what they want and do whatever it takes to get it.
Bottom line
Here’s what I know, more importantly what I believe…God is the only one that can truly help us no matter the circumstances in life. So, why do we feel like God’s not helping?
Isa 31:1 KJV – Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! Woe…that means they’re gonna have some heart ache based on their actions. Who? He ain’t talkin to the heathen, He’s talking to the church. They go DOWN to Egypt for HELP, and they got on horses and chariots…why? Battle man…battle. It’s you and I when we take life matters into our hands without any regard for God or His word. God’s hand is never too short to help, that’s ridiculous. Our iniquity separated us from God, what’s the sin? You didn’t seek Him first.
Mat 6:33 KJV – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Yeah you can’t serve a second place God, if you do, you got the wrong God. Now in the preceding chapter Israel prayed to God, so why didn’t He help here?
Isa 58:4 KJV – Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. They were fasting and praying, and wanted their voice to be heard on High…no such luck, God didn’t hear them. Why? Because they we’re fighting and arguing with each other. Do you really expect God to hear our prayer while we trash each other and fight with everyone around us?
Psa 66:18 KJV – If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: As long as we keep seeing sin in others, offenses, and think they’re a problem in our life God will NOT hear us. We really don’t understand God, we really don’t understand the prayer He’s looking for…you know a Holy God isn’t going to listen to nonsense, let alone espond to us as long as we’re busy crucifying the world around us, right?
Jas 4:11 NLT – Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you. I love this version of the verse, which part of God’s word applies to us? Well we’ll take the blessings of course, we’ll take His forgiveness of course and you know we’ll take the coup d’etat of them all…HEAVEN!! And God loves us so of course we get all that, but then He asks us about the rest of His words? Do they apply just same? Call me crazy but I think He’s looking for us to say…But of course. Which one are we talkin bout?
Mat 5:44 KJV – But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. Maybe instead of praying with blood on our hands because we want to kill our enemies, we oughta pray Lord help me to love them by the power of your word. Do suppose God would consider that a cry for justice? A plea for truth? I believe God will help us all day every day, we just have to plead for truth…not want we think truth oughta be, but God’s eternal truth.
Psa 109:26 KJV – Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy: it’s a simple prayer church, help me Lord according to thy MERCY…love and kindness NOT harshness and criticism. Call me really crazy but maybe when tough times come instead of praying God destroy my enemy, maybe we should pray God save them because You are full of mercy and You’re help is all we need, we will NOT go down to Egypt and fight even though there be many that live that way. Lord deliver me so that my life will bring You glory and honor and let Your truth ring loud in clear in this world through the life we live…Help them Lord…save them Lord and give me the power to love them just like You.
Point to Ponder
Where can lost find God? Psa 25:10 KJV – All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. They have to get on God’s path it’s paved with MERCY and TRUTH…you are that PATH…now pave the way.
Let’s all pray for God’s help, In Him Phil
