Good morning all!
Father, we know that You truly are our heavenly Father. We celebrate You this weekend for Your provision, Your protection and most of all Your love for us. Thank You Dad for being the One thing that is constant in our life, and thank You for being the best role model that Your children could ever hope for, Amen. When you think about, when we look at the life of Jesus Christ there is no better example given to us in how we should live this life. He was the our Father come in the flesh, He came to be the perfect example of how a son should live. Which example?
1 Corinthians 10
1Co 10:11 KJV – Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Now ALL these things that happened to them are examples for us: they are written to warn us and provide guidance and end our worldly thinking.
1Co 10:12 KJV – Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
Because just when think you’re standing tall on your own, you need to be alert so you don’t end up falling.
1Co 10:13 KJV – There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
The trials we all experience in life are common to mankind: but God is faithful, and He will not let you go through any trial that He hasn’t given you the strength to endure; but He will provide a WAY to escape!
1Co 10:14 KJV – Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
So, my loved ones, flee from the worship of idols.
Bottom line
What a powerful piece of scripture God has given us today, to know that no matter what trial we face He is faithful and will provide for us a way to escape.
Psa 71:2 KJV – Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. If God truly is the best and strongest Father in the world, why would we look for help from anyone else but Him? This is David’s prayer, he knew the only way to escape is to call on God first. That’s why he says incline your ear to me, he knew God was listening for his cry.
Psa 28:1 KJV – [[A Psalm of David.]] Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. David knew the only requirement on his part was to cry out to God, that’s it. After that our Father takes it from there, He’s not looking for you to prove you’re right…you’re worthy…you’re His son…you’re perfect…God created you and you’re His child, He knows your true identity…end of report. What pit was David speaking about? And who is the “them” that end up there? It’s us…we end up in a pit when we don’t call out to God in our hour of need. We end up in a pit of worry…doubt…fear…self-pity…confusion…simply put, the pit is the heart of man without God, definitely not a good place. Why do you think right after God says He is faithful and will provide you a way to escape He tells you to flee from idolatry? Where did the idols come from? And why are we worshiping them? When we turn to any other solution, answer, way out to the things we face in life that has become our idol. Usually it ourselves…SELF…that’s the biggest idol we serve instead of God. And did you notice God said these trials are common to man? Why do we always think they’re strange when they fall on us? He clearly states that all the men and women of God that went before us were examples for us so we would know who to call on and what to do when trials come. Now when I think of trials, I think of Job…you feel me? Do you remember what God
said about Job right before his trials hit him?
Job 1:8 NIV – Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” God said he was blameless and upright. Who did God tell? Satan, the accuser of the brethren. What does the accuser usually say? You’re to BLAME!!! Ever speak those words? It’s your fault. What if we actually believe God? What if we believe we’re blameless? What if this was God’s plan for us all along? Would that change how we see Him? See others?
Eph 1:4 NIV – For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. Oh my goodness, God chose us to BLAMELESS before he ever created us? And His love had already pre-determined our sonship through Jesus Christ? What changed in God’s plan for us?
Num 23:19 NLT – God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? Folks that is a hallelujah verse right there, God never changes His mind…that means He don’t make mistakes. You know when we quit blaming others? When we quit blaming ourselves. We were chosen to live out this life blamelessly before the creation of the world, the only way to do that is through the life of Christ the only begotten son of the Father…put a smile on your Father’s face today and live like His son…blameless!
Point to Ponder
How did Jesus escape His greatest trial? Luk 23:46 NIV – Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. These of course the last words of Jesus Christ, the only way out is to commit our life into God’s hands…make it a loud cry.
Let’s all be the example our Father’s created us to be, In Him Phil
