Good morning all!
Father, we know that You are the very creator of love because Your word declares You are love. This is the essence of Your being, help us to understand and experience Your very being in our life, Amen.
Romans 8
Rom 8:35 KJV – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
So, what exactly can separate us from God? Trials, hardship, folks talking smack about us, our needs, our uncertainty, perhaps, real danger or death itself?
Rom 8:36 KJV – As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Here’s what God’s word declares, you gonna go through some things that you’ll find painful; and NO one escapes because He’s counting us all one by one to find our end.
Rom 8:37 KJV – Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
But know this, no matter what we face we are able to conquer death itself because of the love Jesus has for US.
Rom 8:38 KJV – For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
And I am absolutely convinced, that death or this current life, the angels and even the devils, no matter what happens today or tomorrow…
Rom 8:39 KJV – Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
No matter how unreachable heaven may seem, or how deep your hell is, nor anything else you can think of, you will ALWAYS be with ME because of how much I love YOU!
Bottom line
It’s been awhile since we’ve discussed Romans, if you take some time studying this book you will be left with a simple truth…God has absolute power and authority over life and death…and like Paul declares, I have been persuaded. Not sure about you but when I’m convinced of that truth, I start to see life differently. I think God’s wants to clear up the confusion on our life and let us know things aren’t quite as out of
control as we think.
Psa 31:15 NIV – My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. David was facing some real hard times when he penned this psalm, I believe he states in the chapter that he felt like a piece of broken pottery…not much to look at and didn’t serve much use…I would consider that a low point. And what does he pray? MY times…my life…is in YOUR hands. Let’s pause for a minute, what part of your life do you think is out of God’s reach? In fact, even as I type this I’m reminded of a verse.
Isa 59:1 KJV – Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. Doesn’t matter if it is just a passing thought you had or some insurmountable problem you face, He can reach you and He can hear you…ALWAYS. The Bible should always persuade us of God’s love FOR us NOT against us. This is the very premise of this passage of scripture, anything real or imagined by us will NOT separate us from God’s LOVE. He’s speaking this in the context of being our Husband, the only way God can be a Husband…He has a bride…YOU!! What husband doesn’t get up and go to work every day to give his wife the very best? What husband isn’t willing fight every man in a room if they so much as look at his wife? Here’s what I see this morning, God will move heaven and earth just to persuade us of His love for us and no mighty angel on the gates of heaven and no devil in hell is going to hold us back from sharing His love and life with us. I pray we love like God, without measure…without end…and without change…
Point to Ponder
Who can sing about God’s love for us? Psa 106:2 KJV – Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? Who can shew forth all his praise? Those that believe they’re NOT separated from Him.
Let’s all sing of God love, in Him Phil
