Good morning, all!
Father, we come to you today on bended knee knowing that You are always at work in our life. We acknowledge Your presence among us Lord, we know that there is a move in the atmosphere that we can’t express in words. We pray Lord that this move is a renewal of our faith, a revival, a restoration that we would see better days before us, Amen.
2 Corinthians 3
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency [is] of God.
We’re NOT qualified to think we can do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
He has enabled us to be ministers of His new covenant. A covenant not of written laws, but Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but the new covenant in Spirit gives life.
7 But if the ministration of death, written [and] engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which [glory] was to be done away:
The law etched in stone, led to death, though it began with glory that the people of Israel could not look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness would eventually fade.
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
Shouldn’t we expect something so much BETTER from the ministering of His spirit?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation [be] glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
If the old way, which brought condemnation was glorious, how much BETTER is the new way which makes us right with God!
Bottom line
Who doesn’t want better days? This is the message of the new covenant which Paul is speaking about here, it’s called GRACE. Now you may ask what’s the difference? Well, the world has to look back at YESTERDAY for glory days but with God our glory days are in front of us. It’s the old Bruce Springsteen “Glory days”, there is a line that says “they’ll pass you by” but NOT true with God. God says the complete opposite; He says the best is yet to come…your best days are in front of you…EXCEED in glory #betterdays!!! Who can do that? God!!! He opens with we’re NOT qualified within ourselves to do anything, but God on the other hand…what limits does He have?
[Job 11:7 NIV] Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? When God chooses for us to have better days, book it…you can’t FATHOM His mysteries for your life. Remember the first miracle Jesus performed? It was at the wedding feast…wow better days already-Ha! What did Jesus do? He turned the water into wine and not any old wine…no, no, no it was BETTER wine.
[Jhn 2:10 NIV] And said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now. I’m not sure I fully comprehend what I’m saying this morning, He is a better God than the one I knew growing up as a child, He has provided better than I ever thought and still the best has yet to come. Is it possible we serve a BETTER God, with a BETTER PLAN, with a BETTER outcome? Is it possible? What makes it possible?
[Psa 63:3 KJV] Because your love [is] better than life, my lips shall praise thee. His LOVE is BETTER than anything we might experience; it is His only motivation when it comes to YOU! Doesn’t love make everything better? I believe this is what God is saying this morning. He’s saying quit OVERTHINKING our relationship with Him. There’s nothing to think about when it comes to LOVE, if we THINK we have to do something for God’s love or favor that is the ministry of CONDEMNATION that’s NOT righteous. This is what you and I are ministers of in this new covenant, its BETTER love, it’s straight from the heart and requires NO thought just love.
[Rom 4:4 KJV] Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. We don’t have to work for GRACE it’s given to us because of God’s love for us, grace means we love without having any debt and nobody else owing us either for that matter. When we believe God places a requirement on us for His love that is a debt mentality and that is NOT grace, it’s works. Why do you think He said we are saved by grace and NOT works? Grace and love are connected, when we understand the ministry of grace we understand there is greater love available and a greater love to give. There are two Greek words used to describe love, phileo and agape. Phileo is a worldly love and it has requirements, it has limits. But then there is agape love, God’s love which is birthed in heaven and NOT of this world, it has NO requirements and NO limits.
[1Ti 1:14 KJV] And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. Our faith and love should be EXCEEDING abundant…NO limit, why? GRACE and GRACE alone. Do you have MORE faith today? Do you love MORE today? Then how can it NOT be BETTER days? The only way you and I will have BETTER days is with love and faith and if it’s BETTER for God then it ought to be BETTER for us…put your faith into action and love without exception.
Point to Ponder
You want a better day? [Psa 84:10 NIV] Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. Choose where you want to live…even if all you do is hold the door open for others, it’s still better!
Let’s all live for better days, In Him Phil
