Good morning, all!
Father, we know that things with You can only get better, You are the architect of better. A better day, a better faith, a better God, a better life and with You we have all those things. So, give us better understanding of Your truth so that we might live a life that is better than anything we could imagine so we might better Your kingdom this day, Amen.
John 6
53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Then Jesus spoke with all sincerity of heart and said unless you sustain your life by eating my flesh and drinking my blood you will have NO life.
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Anyone at all who partakes of my flesh and drinks my blood will have ETERNAL life and I will resurrect him on the LAST day.
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
For my flesh is full of power and my blood full of life indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
When you partake of me, your life is in me and I in you.
Bottom line
When Jesus spoke these words to the masses He created quite the controversy, they probably thought He was crazy…eat His flesh and drink His blood? If we’re going to be as Christ, we must consume Him…ALL of Him, become Him but what’s the alternative? He said unless we do this, we have NO life not some kind of life. God is the creator of life itself; it doesn’t exist without Him so maybe we ought to follow His instructions for life, what do you think? Or will we do what the masses chose that day?
[Jhn 6:66 KJV] From that [time] many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him. So how many walked away from Jesus? Hmm…well He just fed 5,000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish but only 12 remained so I would guess 4,988 walked with Him NO more…less than 1% remained with Jesus. So why did the 12 remain with Jesus?
[Jhn 6:68 NLT] Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. The 12 disciples chose to remain with Jesus because they knew if they followed the words which He spoke they would receive ETERNAL life…a life without age and NO end. Would you like to have a life with NO end? Then you need to have a last day, a day when you choose Christ over the world and its standards, over religion and its regulations. Religion will usually prescribe what you have to do to look like Jesus or maybe sound like Jesus, but faith says I must have a last day and die so I can LIVE like Him. What is His flesh and blood?
[Jhn 1:17 KJV] For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. His flesh, also known as the bread of heaven…TRUTH…His blood is the cup of the new covenant…GRACE. Church we need both to live this life whether we believe it or not. And want some more truth, well whether we remain with Jesus or walk away from His truth you will receive His grace anyway.
[Tit 2:11 KJV] For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Ha! God knew less than 1% would truly follow Him so He decided on His own to save us anyway, and this just in He don’t need our approval or acceptance…the verse says because of God’s grace He brought salvation to SOME of y’all…just messin…He gave it to ALL mankind. What is grace?
[Col 1:6 NLT] This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace. I’m not sure we’ll ever be able to fully comprehend God’s grace, after all it is a dispensation from heaven so how can mere mortals from this world define it? I don’t think we need to define it, but I do think we need to BELIEVE it and ACCEPT it, isn’t that what you do with a gift? It is GOOD news for the WORLD not just you, it CHANGES lives and if God is changing it and its again GOOD news then it has to be BETTER. Call me crazy but perhaps a better life? Now don’t start to define BETTER based on the world’s standards, the world didn’t give so the world can’t claim it.
[Luk 12:15 KJV] And Jesus said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. Life has nothing to do with what you have or don’t have, that’s the trap Jesus warns against here. A life of faith says my life has nothing to do with the abundance of the world, instead it says there is an abundance I want, and it is more of God…that it the better life, choose wisely today.
Point to Ponder
Is your life BETTER? [Psa 84:10 NIV] Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. You want some real truth this morning? A BETTER life can only be found when your life is truly desperate for God alone…even if it’s only ONE day…you better take it.
Let’s all live with a better mindset, In Him Phil
