Good morning all!
Father, we know that You are changing us in a way not known to man. You alone are the creator of all, Your wisdom is above all the earth, it reaches the sky and fills heaven. Open our heart, open our eyes and renew our mind so that we see You glory no matter what we face, Amen.
Nahum 1
11 There is [one] come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
There is one that is inside of us that needs to come out, he doesn’t think right when it come to the Lord, he imagines evil.
12 Thus saith the LORD; Though [they be] quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
The Lord said these thoughts though they are quiet and MANY, they will ALL be cut down when they pass through you. I had to afflict you but once done I will afflict you NO more.
13 For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
This affliction will break this yoke of thinking from your mind and I will break these chains holding you back from living with freedom.
14 And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, [that] no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
And the Lord has made a promise concerning you, the old YOU will not sow seeds anymore, that false image you made which is insignificant, I will put in a grave.
15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
Look, new life on a mountain and you have something good to speak about it’s peace. O Judah…the one that now has the victory, KEEP the solemn feasts, make good on your vows, for the wicked thoughts will NO longer influence you anymore because they are cut off forever.
Bottom line
It’s never me it’s always the “other guy”, right? Who is the one that has to come OUT of me, the one who thinks God thinks like us, the counselor that provides bad advice? The “other guy” in me, also known as the SELF righteous one. This just in the “other guy” is always the one inside of us, as far as God is concerned it’s never the one we point our finger at. We wouldn’t do that, would we?
[Isa 58:9 NIV] Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I. “If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk. The minute we think it’s the “other guy”, how does the Lord respond? I love it, the first thing He says I’m right here, I can SEE just fine what about you? God says, will you quit putting a yoke of bondage on others…thinking we’re better than them…and for the love of Pete quit pointing the finger at them and putting them on blast. Now did you notice how God removes the “other guy” mentality? He afflicted your soul, that’s right you experience some tough times in life. Now before you think God is picking on you, His wisdom is INFINITE and ours is NOT.
[Lam 3:33 KJV] For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. The only way to kill the “other guy” mentality is through the affliction, He’s not looking for us to just sit around crying feeling sorry for ourselves but rather strengthen us so we look outside of ourselves instead of placing our focus within…it’s known as being selfish…it also places us in a yoke of bondage and places chains on our feet because we don’t LIVE by faith…the opposite of needing a good reason…you should just need faith. Did you notice the wicked one that comes out of us is QUIET and MANY? Self-righteousness doesn’t actually have a voice, it’s how we THINK and we include God in our thinking as though He sees it the same way we do. When I read scripture there is NOTHING we can do to qualify or disqualify anyone including YOU, it’s only the grace of God the new covenant. Jesus Christ put an end to the old covenant and its requirements on Calvary and now we NO longer live with that old mentality…the renewing of our mind.
[Rom 3:22 KJV] Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference. I’m NOT sure how we could confuse this verse, ALL are righteous according to God…there is NO difference. When God removes the “other guy” in me, He gives me a new life. He places me on a mountain…a higher level of faith and my feet…my lifestyle has GOOD news, this good news allows us to publish PEACE…ALL should be able to see it…He tells us to KEEP the solemn feast…the word solemn means a giddy dance…sounds like a good feast if you ask me and perform thy vow…what vow? Till death do we part…it’s called LOVE. Next thing you know those wicked thoughts that say the “other guy” is no good or NOT deserving they NO longer pass through our mind anymore because we have been changed, we start to think and live more like Christ.
Point to Ponder
You know how to be ONE with Christ? [Phl 3:9 NLT] And become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. Quit trying to qualify yourself…God’s WAY is best…BELIEVE!!!
