Good morning all!
Father, we know that all Your promises are good and sure. We know that you withhold NO good thing from Your children and any thought otherwise just isn’t true. Thank You Lord for the promiseof a new day, a new life and a new relationship that is full of love and mercy, Amen. God did promise us a garden, that’s how this whole thing started…life. Where’s your garden?
Isaiah 27
Isa 27:8 KJV – In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind.
This branch will only get so big and we fight with it: and then His judgment will come as a wind from the east and cause life to get a little rough.
Isa 27:9 KJV – By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.
The wind will clean away Jacob’s sin (swindler); and all he got from lying will disappear; and all his false sacrifices are worthless and every false god he made and worshipped will fall.
Isa 27:10 KJV – Yet the defenced city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branchesthereof.
And the place you thought protected you will be forsaken like a wilderness: it’s actually a place for a lazy beast that eats all its branches.
Isa 27:11 KJV – When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour.
The women now come and take the dry and broken branches and burn them, they represent church folk with NO understanding because they don’t live by faith: this is why God sent the rough wind anyway to knock those worthless branches down and burn them so they can’t be used again.
Bottom line
Here’s what I know about gardens…they can be a pain in the neck. Have you ever planted a garden? Maybe you improved the look of your front lawn? It always looks good the minute you finish it, the problems keeping it that way. Now, I’m not suggesting we are a pain in the neck to God…well at least some of us-Ha! You do know we’re the garden right? And everything that was inside that garden is inside of us.
Sng 4:12 KJV – A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed. There is a sister and a spouse locked inside this garden…the soul of mankind…we have the same Father and the church is the bride of Christ. Now, you know why I’m not crazy about gardens? WEEDS!!! That’s the pain, no matter what you do they’re always popping up and need to be pulled otherwise my garden don’t look so nice. This is the picture here in Isaiah, God is cleaning up His garden. It starts with a rough wind from the east, anyone feel me on that one?
Job 27:21 KJV – The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place. I know Job can feel me, you suppose he went through some rough times? Who was carried away? Who was thrown out of his place? Job never left earth during his rough times, the “who” is as Isaiah put it…”the man without understanding”. When rough times come we want to blame someone for the way we feel, if you want to blame someone? Blame God!It’s okay He’s big enough and His love strong enough that he can handle it. He knows those worthless branches in our life that don’t produce fruit need to be cut off and burned. If not, you know what happens?
Jon 2:5 KJV – The waters compassed me about, evento the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. That’s right, you end up with weeds wrapped around your head. You feel like you’re trapped and buried deep because you think life is too rough, maybe you feel like you’re at the end of your rope. Instead, maybe you’re not and it’s really a new beginning of faith and the rough time has come to purge the wrong thoughts we have about God and others. And now our garden can have healthy growth again because the weeds have been removed.
Isa 58:11 KJV – And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. The Lord has watered your garden this morning and now our garden has a spring that produces water that will NOT fail…that sounds refreshing.
1Co 13:8 NIV – Love never fails. Never is never…if your garden doesn’t produce love…it ain’t God’s garden.
Point to Ponder
You ever feel like Job? Job 14:7 KJV – For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Don’t worry…you will sprout again, it begins with being gentle and your growth will have no end.
Let’s all produce the fruit of garden, In Him Phil
