Good morning all!
Father, we know You are the only one Faithful in our life, You define it, You own it and You live it. According to Your word You are the same yesterday, today and forever, the same faithful God that delivered the children of Israel from the Red sea delivers us today from every storm we face, Amen. What is the faithfulness of God?
Psalm 89
1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
Looks like we can ALL sing because His faithfulness includes ALL generations…includes you.
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
God’s faithfulness…His belief in YOU is in the heavens…yeah He can see things we can’t…remember it’s heaven so it has to be good.
8 O LORD God of hosts, who [is] a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
You know anyone stronger than God? Right, He will always fight for you especially when you don’t see the enemy coming.
24 But my faithfulness and my mercy [shall be] with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
Though others might not have anything nice to say about you, your strength isn’t found in their words it is found in God alone who always believes in you and loves you.
33 Nevertheless my loving kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
Listen, the world will fail you…fear NOT it’s supposed to BUT God’s faithfulness can never fail you.
Bottom line
I’d like us to look at this passage this morning dealing with His faithfulness with the view of a husband…THY faithfulness and not ours.
[Hos 2:20 KJV] I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD. Let this be a friendly reminder to see God as our Husband this morning, doesn’t scripture declare that we are His bride? I think we forget that part of our relationship with Him but it really should be at the forefront of our life, the two become one. The word betroth is Hosea is speaking about the covenant of marriage, God has made a vow and He will never fail or break any vow. In fact, it is the first vow spoken of in the bible when we look at the story of Adam and Eve it was the covenant of marriage. You suppose is was first for a reason? There are so many great attributes of our Husband in this passage, the first one is His faithfulness is in the heavens. You see God sees what we can’t see, He sees our heart, our purpose and our potential. Simply put, God believes in YOU! I believe this is the foundation of a great marriage, you have to believe in one another and if you quit believing…which is to stay, you quit SEEING the best in one another…Houston we have a problem. Here’s the beauty of our marriage to God, He SEES heaven, He SEES who we truly are, HE SEES the greatness of what He’s created. Which is?
[Isa 62:5 NIV] As a young man marries a young woman, so will your Creator marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you. Consider this, when people ask God about you…He sings your praises. What did you expect Him to do? Complain? Say oh no? Ha! God created a bride, then after He created you He entered into the covenant of marriage with you. And what does your Husband provide after the weeding? A beautiful home, protection and children…Abrahamic covenant. Why do you think He asks you who is strong like the Lord? He FIGHTS for you, your Knight in shining armor.
[Rev 19:11 KJV] And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. Tada, our Knight has arrived…what kind of husband? Faithful and TRUE, making war…same as fighting for you. What’s He fighting? Every LIE in your heart that says He’s NOT your husband, every lie that says you don’t deserve Him, every lie that tries to disqualify you and every lie that tries to steal your joy and peace in this life…Mr. Faithful and True rides into your heart and sets you free…two become one.
Point to Ponder
How important is Heaven? [Psa 57:10 KJV] For thy mercy [is] great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. God’s truth is NOT based on our feelings, it’s based in eternity where nothing can change it.
Thank God for His faithfulness, In Him Phil
