Good morning all!
Father, thank You Lord for the gift of Your Son which cleansed us from all sin. Thank You Lord for removing every obstacle, every road block, every lie that keeps us from Your love and kindness. Today Lord we pray that Your joy be made complete in us and expressed through the life we live unto You for Your honor and glory, Amen. You ever have those moments in life when your feel there’s something missing? You seem to be happy but not totally, is your joy full?
1 John 1
1Jo 1:4 KJV – And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
And the purpose the Bible was written for US was that our lives would be FULL of joy…hmm, that sounds good.
1Jo 1:5 KJV – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
This is the “MESSAGE” we’ve heard about Jesus and we speak with authority, that God is light and there is NO evidence of darkness in Him.
1Jo 1:6 KJV – If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
And if we say we know and love Him and darkness exist on our life, we’re NOT living in truth…we’re living a lie.
1Jo 1:7 KJV – But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
BUT if we live our life in His light, which HE is, we actually have a relationship with each other and His the blood of Jesus washes away the offenses from ALL sin.
Bottom line
If we’re not completely overtaken by joy in our life, it’s not failure on God’s part, it’s a failure of our understanding and acceptance of what He’s already completed for us.
Phl 1:4 KJV – Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy. How often should we request joy? ALWAYS!! For who? ALL!! How much darkness does God have? NONE. This is why we need the word of God in our life, how else would we know the power of His truth? This is John’s message this morning, joy and light go hand in hand…can you see that? Our joy should be full and God…our light doesn’t have any darkness…makes sense so far. So, let’s say some part of my life or my day is missing joy that would have to mean darkness must be present somewhere…God? Can’t be, who’s that leave? ME!!
Psa 18:28 KJV -For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. Only God can turn on our candle…spirit of Christ in us and bring light to my darkness…ignorance. This is why John says for us to say we know God and walk in darkness that’s a lie, it can’t be truth as defined by God. So, how is it that darkness and God can exist at the same time?
Psa 18:9 KJV – He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. That’s right this is Easter Sunday, who do you think came down from heaven? His name is Jesus Christ. You don’t think He walked in darkness, do you? It is under His feet…translation…it’s beneath the life He lives. And His blood on Calvary cleansed US from how much sin? ALL…means ALL!! And why is that so important? We are all forgiven, it’s the only way to have FELLOWSHIP with each other…walking in the light…living in forgiveness. You know how darkness shows up, right? We choose to NOT have fellowship with someone, why? We don’t feel their worthy…we don’t think they deserve our fellowship…we don’t like them…we don’t forgive them…which of these means walking in darkness? That’s right Bob…ALL of them. Now, tell them what they’ve won? The absence of God in their life, darkness is under His feet. The blood of Calvary gives us the power and the freedom to have fellowship with ALL, when we don’t fellowship with each other because we choose to see each other’s sin rather than Calvary we’re living beneath…we live a lesser life that is void of God’s presence and so our joy is not full. I pray we see the power of the Cross this week and live in the fullness of His light and place darkness under our feet and live in truth… Point to Ponder- How do we walk in light?
Jhn 13:14 KJV – If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. You think someone isn’t worthy of your fellowship because they’re dirty? Than go wash their feet and I promise…you’ll see a light so bright you’ll both need sunglasses.
Let’s all walk in the light and keep the darkness beneath our feet, In Him Phil
