Good morning, all!
Father, we come humbly before You today and we ask for a fresh anointing Lord. We pray that You create something new in us that we can’t truly explain but we know that it is by Your hand and Your heart that it is accomplished. And let the overflow of Your anointing be expressed in a new song, one that exceeds the world’s understanding and reaches heaven and Your throne, Amen.
Psalm 100
1 [[A Psalm of praise.]] Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Let ALL the earth be excited and shout with JOY because the LORD is in charge.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
And whatever you do in life be happy about it to the point where the world can hear your life song.
3 Know ye that the LORD he [is] God: [it is] he [that] hath made us, and not we ourselves; [we are] his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
KNOW that the Creator He is the only true God, the One that created you and I, we had NOTHING to do with it, the world is HIS people and also the SHEEP of His pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him [and] bless his name.
Let your gates open wide by giving thanks and wherever you place your feet praise Him, be thankful for what you have and bring glory to His name.
5 For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations.
WHY? Well because the Lord is GOOD and His mercy NEVER runs out and His truth gets passed on to our children and their children and so on.
Bottom line
What a wonderful Psalm and reminder of the nature and character of our God. How will the world know about the goodness of our God? Through you and I by the way we live our life, do we enter into this life with joy and singing? Do we give thanks no matter where we are or what we have? Do we live life KNOWING there is a God in heaven that MADE us ALL? And what are we to Him? SHEEP. Why sheep? I think this is a picture of our innocence, a picture of our gentleness, a picture of our humility and a picture of our total reliance on the Shepherd. Do you know your Shepherd?
[Jhn 10:11 KJV] I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. The good Shepherd lays down His life before He lets anything happen to you and
me, what do we have to worry about?
[Luk 12:22 NLT] Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life–whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. Jesus said what? Don’t worry about EVERYDAY life, call me crazy that but that should pretty much cover every aspect of our life, right? This is why we can live this life with complete joy, with a life that will truly shout out with a song. Do you have your favorite pick me up song or perhaps a hype song for the gym? Good…what if we could become that song? What if our life was a representation of that song? In the gym this morning I started my workout with Van Halen “Jump”, the song begins with “I get up and NOTHING gets me down…jump” While I love David Lee Roth there was another David that sang a song just like long before Van Halen?
[Psa 18:29 ESV] For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. Who runs head on against an army? And who jumps over walls? The one that won’t let anything stop them because they KNOW God, they KNOW their Shepherd and they KNOW God’s goodness stretches beyond the generations of this world. Now I hope you can see it this morning, but what is the definition of God’s goodness? It’s right in the verse, His mercy and truth…promises ENDURE ALL generations. So, who does that leave out? We need to trust our Shepherd this morning to do His job and our job is really quite simple, sing your life song in such a way that there is NO obstacle in your life that would stop you from singing. Make sure the world knows your blessed because the God of the universe has empowered you to live your life without worry, without fear and without any doubt of His goodness. Will you give voice to this message this morning?
[Jhn 10:16 KJV] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd. We have to get the OTHER sheep; we have to bring them into the fold…did you notice the number? One-fold and One Shepherd. What was the great commission given to Peter?
[Jhn 21:17 NLT] A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep. Jesus asks us the same question three times; do you love me? How is that love for Jesus represented in our life? We have to feed His sheep; ALL His sheep and scripture declares that with lips of GRACE we feed many. Remember it is by HIS grace and grace alone…One fold, One shepherd and One message…GRACE!!!
Point to Ponder
Do you have a song? [Psa 98:1 KJV] O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. It’s time for a NEW song so CHANGE the station or CHANGE your tune but make sure it includes mercy and truth to ALL generations.
Let’s all sing with joy, In Him Phil
