Good morning all!
Father, we know that there may be days that appear to hold some uncertainty to us but to You they are as certain as Your love for us. We pray that You will release Your spirit in us to reveal the truth that would flow in our life, and allow it to flood our soul so that we would experience Your love and kindness with all certainty and know that You alone are God, Amen. When you look at your life what are the things that you count as precious in your life? You know what you might consider your prized possessions? What’s precious?
Psalm 126
Psa 126:1 KJV – [[A Song of degrees.]] When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
When God finally restores our life, it was just like a wonderful dream that came true.
Psa 126:2 KJV – Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
We were so giddy that our life was filled with laughter, and all we could do is sing for joy: and the doubter in me said, The Lord has completed this great thing in my life.
Psa 126:5 KJV – They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
I cried so long for this day but now I shall live with joy in my heart.
Psa 126:6 KJV – He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
I may have lived with certain tears, but those tears also contained a PRECIOUS seed, and without a shadow of doubt it will produce only the very best and we will once more rejoice as before.
Bottom line
What’s precious? Life…faith…relationships…the Bible…our relationship with God. This is one of the most famous Psalms written by David, you may have sang songs in church growing up and still do today…bringing in the sheaves…bringing in the sheaves. https://youtu.be/Y-YyzjDkwgs Simply put…your life is the most precious thing in the eyes of God, He considers you His prized possession.
Eph 1:14 NIV – Who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession–to the praise of his glory. Can you see the wonderful expression of God’s word this morning? Christ Himself was our deposit, the very GUARANTEE of our inheritance. What do we inherit? GOD!!! We are His possession and because we are, we know that He alone will redeem us. Maybe we’re like Israel and you feel like you’ve been held captive by something or some event in life, maybe you’ve even lost some things, and you might have even sowed some tears as you sought God through these difficult years. And then there comes the day…the Lord turns the tables AGAIN, which means He also did it the first time…you can’t have an again unless you have a prior, right?
Isa 29:16 KJV – Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? This is a BIG time verse, the Potter’s gonna do what He gotta do to make us right, His prize possession, remember? Your up is now down and down is now up, what you thought was strong is now weak and your weak is now strong…upside down. Shall the life that has been framed and everything that is included in that picture frame say He don’t understand what’s going on in my life…yeah right. However, when we look at the word of God and all those that followed God you can see the pattern clearly shows a window of difficulty but then there shall be DOUBTLESS rejoicing…what’s that?
Isa 51:11 KJV – Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away. Doubtless rejoicing is the same as everlasting joy…there is NO change…rejoicing and joy are constant, it’s no longer interrupted with sorrow or mourning because that has fled away. It’s a new joy, we’ve all experienced moments of joy but perhaps you might have experienced times when it was interrupted by a problem, issue, conflict…whatever, but then the tables turned and change was produced. Now, he ain’t talking about when we die and go to the sweet by and by because He said we would let the heathen know the Lord is the One that accomplished this joy in my life…news flash, the heathen ain’t in heaven so God’s gotta be speaking of our here and now. Now what exactly is this new found joy we have? What produced this kind of happiness? The Sheaves!!! You know they have to be precious, His word declares it so and remember David opened this Psalm with a dream now becoming real.
Gen 37:6 KJV – And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. Oh my goodness, it’s Joseph’s dream…the sheaves stood upright and they looked just the sheaf in the center and they worshipped it…Christ. And where were the sheaves? Hmm…In a field NOT heaven. Congratulations, you just found what is precious in sight of God…it’s the Christ in you.
Point to Ponder
Where’s the field? Mat 13:38 KJV – The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one. The difference between the two kind of children? Children of the kingdom find the Christ in one another and are bound together…by love.
Let’s all find what’s precious in each other, In Him Phil
