Good morning all!
Father, we know that You and Your plan are all that really matters when it comes to life. We know that we’re made in Your image and Your likeness and no matter what we feel or others might say nothing can change that. Help us to see the who and not the what so that we might glorify Your name, Amen. Who matters?
Romans 8
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us?
What else can we say about the wonderful things He’s done? If God is for us, who can ever take us down?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Since he did NOT spare even his own Son but gave him up for ALL of us, what do we honestly think he would hold back from us?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? [It is] God that justifieth.
Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for His own? NOBODY–God himself has placed us in right standing with Him.
34 Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Who then can condemn us? NOBODY–Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and He is sitting at God’s right hand telling Him just how great we ARE!
Bottom line
Romans is such a powerful book in the bible, it really speaks to God’s authority in our world today and the position He has given us. Why would we listen to anything besides the creator of the universe? Doesn’t it seem kind of silly? But if you’re like me sometimes we listen to the other guy? Who? You da the only WHO God’s speaking to.
[Act 4:19 NIV] But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to Him? You be the judges! The truth is each of us is our own judge, we have a judge living inside of us that judges things all day every day and at times is the loudest voice in our life, who can be against us? God’s speaking to each of us individually, we are our own worst enemy…”WHO” What enemy did you think God was saving you from? Your neighbor? He told you to love them. Your spouse? You’re supposed to die for them. Oh, I know, your boss or your co-worker? You’re supposed to subject yourself to ALL those in authority over you and go two miles instead of one required. If God has given His son for you, I would think that would be all the evidence we need of His love for us and to understand what He thinks of us? Who shall separate you from the love of God? Who can accuse you? Who can condemn you? YOU and YOU alone. But here’s the thing, if and when we do, that it’s NOT true…it’s a complete lie.
[Rom 1:25 KJV] Who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. When we listen to those judgmental and accusing thoughts, we exchange God’s truth for those lying feelings. God is so much bigger than all our feelings and all our understanding or lack thereof, I believe God is looking to stretch us beyond our feelings and grab hold of eternity…of Him, the Who that really matters. He knows we get tossed about and when we do that’s usually when trouble begins. And so we’re clear, it’s not as though Calvary means Jesus Christ is now passive in our life today. Yes, Calvary completed the work of Christ and completes you and I…nothing we could possibly add to Calvary to justify us. Jesus is alive and well in heaven making INTERCESSION for us…He’s on your side today, can you find a better advocate to speak on your behalf? Come on, if we’re choosing sides, I’m choosing Jesus first every time. Why?
[Rev 1:5 NIV] Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood. How powerful is this verse? This truth that extends beyond our feelings, Jesus is YOUR faithful witness…He speaks on your behalf and declares you are free from sin…sin of condemnation, sin of accusation, sin of criticism, sin of guilt and shame…you are FREE! And if you FEEL differently than you can go to your faithful witness in prayer, and He will comfort you and set you free because He alone has justified you and don’t need your help to do it…that’s WHO!
Point to Ponder
Does God really think about me? Psa 139:17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! He thinks you’re PRECIOUS and He woke up with you this morning and best I can tell you’ll have a real tough time trying to count His love.
Let’s all be the who God made us to be, In Him Phil
