Good morning all!
Father, we know that as we approach a new year You have already prepared the way. Your word declares that goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our life, thank You Lord for our protection, our provision, for being our all in all, Amen. You know when you settle? When you have anything less than God. Why settle?
Jeremiah 48
11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
Moab has had it easy for some time, his drink remains full and he has plenty. He really hasn’t experienced hard times, a bit of a silver spoon, he still has a taste for natural things not spiritual which is why his scent hasn’t changed…NO real change in his life.
12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.
It’s time, Look real good, I’m sending a day says God and I will empty that cup and break the cup so he can’t use it anymore.
30 I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but [it shall] not [be] so; his lies shall not so effect [it].
I know he’ll be upset says God, but I have to be God just the same; his lies can’t stop ME.
38 [There shall be] lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein [is] no pleasure, saith the LORD.
There shall be crying on ALL the housetops of Moab, for God has broken this vessel that He found NO pleasure in.
Bottom line
As you can see the city of Moab brings NO joy or pleasure to God, so His Judgment is to break it like a clay pot…no value at all. You know where you can find the city of Moab, right? It’s in our heart. How did it get there?
[Zep 1:12 KJV] 12 And it shall come to pass at that time, [that] I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil. I believe this may be the worst city of all, it’s so deceptive and can lead to so much damage in our lives. It allows me to believe in God, I say He’s out there somewhere but HE has NO real influence in my life…NEITHER good or bad. You know why I believe that? Because I think life is one me, I have to figure it out and if life is good I made it that way and if I fall on bad times it was because I allowed someone in my life to do it to me…that’s living in Moab. What
do you think God is doing with that candle?
[Pro 20:27 KJV] 27 The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. God is searching US out, it’s like He goes into our heart just so He can clear away the dust of Moab so He can reveal the TRUE city within US Jerusalem…city of peace. Moab was at ease, all seems good in life, I love God…I’m a good person…everything is just the way I want it. When was the last time you asked God to change you? Moab doesn’t want change, Moab wants life to go their way that’s why they worship Chemosh…the God of control. You know why we have to feel in control? Right, we don’t truly believe God is in control of our life…He is neither good or bad. You know how God empties our cup and breaks our bottle?
[Mat 9:17 KJV] 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. Someone say thank you Jesus! Didn’t He say unless you eat of my flesh and drink of my blood you have NO life in you…no value to God. Jesus was speaking of the new covenant of Grace, you’re supposed to pour it into a new bottle…the new you, the one that left Moab because you changed. If God pours grace into us and we don’t love and forgive our bottle breaks, God poured in grace…love and forgiveness…that’s what should pour out of us. Moab is stuck on the old wine, the old covenant, it has conditions and limits and refuses to change. Remember the story of Ruth, she was the Moabite that left Moab and eventually became King David’s grandmother…that’s right she is in the lineage of Jesus Christ. Do you remember her sister in-law Orpah? What happened to her? The Bible says she turned back and never mentions her name again. You know why? She has NO legacy to speak of, she’s just like the useless clay jar that’s broken. Orpah represents living in yesterday, we look back on our life and see problems, broken promises, old hurts and pain and we refuse to leave it. It’s time to leave Moab church and start living in Jerusalem, it’s either yesterday’s law or today’s grace.
[Eph 1:7 KJV] 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Let the world know just how rich you are…pour out forgiveness.
Point to Ponder
Do you have your Father’s eyes? [Gen 6:8 KJV] 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. When you get CLOSE enough to your heavenly Father, you’ll notice the color of His eyes…GRACE.
Let’s all live in His grace, In Him Phil
