Good morning all!
Father, we now that Your heart can only be for us and NOT against us. We know that it is a BIG heart, it has room for the world that’s why You sent Your Son. Father, help us to see Your love in our life so that we might increase what You’ve already given and cause our heart to grow, Amen. You’ve heard that expression before…oh, he/she has a big heart. How big?
Ezekiel 36
Eze 36:1 KJV – Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:
Looks like God wants us to talk to these mountains and the words should be the WORD of the Lord:
Eze 36:3 KJV – Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:
The prophesy is against the mountains because they made us desolate and swallowed us up and we became the lips of talkers and use them to defame people:
Eze 36:11 KJV – And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
God has dealt with this mountain and now there’s an increase and fruit is coming and we will be better than our beginnings…that sounds good.
Eze 36:25 KJV – Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
Looks like this has happened because God has made US clean and taken away our idols.
Eze 36:26 KJV – A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
And now we have a NEW heart and a NEW spirit, He took the old broken one out and given us a new life.
Bottom line
Have you spoken to your mountain lately? What did you say to it? Why is there nobody around? Why has is completely swallowed me? Wasn’t there a prophet that got swallowed once? Jonah was swallowed by a big fish when he didn’t listen you God, do you remember where that fish took him?
Jon 2:6 NIV – To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, LORD my God, brought my life up from the pit. Only one way out of that pit of despair…GOD!! Jonah SANK to the bottom of themountain…he sank to the bottom of his emotions. What emotions do we find at the bottom? Selfishness…fear…worry…depression…anger…did you find one yet? We need to prophesy to the mountain of emotions in our life and tell them they can’t control how we live anymore. When they do control us we become desolate…God departs from that place.
Jer 17:5 KJV – Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. When our strength comes from an emotional state of mind rather than a living a life of faith the Lord departs from our heart…it’s desolate…a God less life. We all have emotions of course that’s not the issue, the issue is we abandon God’s principles for our life and follow our emotions by doing foolish things. God had mercy on Nineveh that’s why he wanted to send Jonah, to help save them. Jonah on the other hand didn’t think they were worthy so he jumped on a boat and sailed in the opposite direction…he was led by how he felt rather then being led by God. Why? First, he was selfish it’s not what he wanted to do. Second, he didn’t think they were worthy of mercy. Does that sound like God’s heart? Does that sound like a big heart? We’re either running to God or running from Him, there really is no in between. We should run with heart, right?
Psa 119:32 KJV – I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart. Do we run to love others? Run to forgive others? Again, do you really think God wants us to do anything half-hearted? The witness is that will run to love and forgive others, that’s the big heart God has given us. The reason we don’t follow His command is we let our emotions get the better of us and we think…well they’re not worthy of my love or they’re not worthy of my forgiveness. Congratulations…that’s the lip of the talker…I love you God just not enough to forgive so and so, they’re not worthy. At this point here you’re no longer worshipping God, you’re worshipping the idol you’ve created. This is why God has to clean us from all idols.
Isa 44:20 NLT – The poor, deluded fool feeds on ashes. He trusts something that can’t help him at all. Yet he cannot bring himself to ask, “Is this idol that I’m holding in my hand a lie? We all hold onto our emotions but anytime they oppose the word of God, you’re now holding onto a lie…the idol in our hand. Our emotions usually don’t tell us to forgive others, they do the opposite just like Jonah…that’s when our life becomes consumed by a lie. My emotions tell me I can’t forgive even though the heart of Christ says yes you can…drop the lie and open your heart…it’s the NEW one God promised to you.
Point to Ponder
You have any mountains this morning? Isa 54:10 KJV – For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee. Only way to remove mountains is through mercy…that’s the promise.
Let’s all remove the mountain, In Him Phil
