Good morning all!
Father, we pray that as we begin a new year we do so with the power of Your grace. Let us move forward this year with passion and conviction that Your love will always make and way and never leave our side. We know that You make all things new so renew our love for You and one another, Amen.
Zechariah 4
7 Who [art] thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel [thou shalt become] a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone [thereof with] shoutings, [crying], Grace, grace unto it.
Who is this BIG mountain? before Zerubbabel…YOU…it will be leveled, and he will bring forward the corner stone with authority, crying grace, grace to it.
8 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
The Lord says I have a little more to say…
9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
Your hand has laid the start of this house and your hand is going to FINISH it because God sent YOU to do it.
10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel [with] those seven; they [are] the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
Will you despise the little things…you think it’s insignificant? Rejoice for you will see a finished product and you will measure and see that it is beautiful and complete, for the eyes of the Lord see every little thing that happens throughout ALL your life.
Bottom line
Well happy new year everyone!
I would like to start the year with a word of encouragement, perhaps even INSPIRE you…gym membership? Clean out that closet? Paint that room? I don’t know what’s on your list this year? Maybe 2025 left you with some real challenges so you’re not quite up to the task, to take on anything new…I understand! If that’s the case then just like Zechariah let me remind you of the power of God’s grace, according to this passage it will level this mountain in your life…its name…DISCOURAGEMENT. Zerubbabel faced all kinds of opposition when God asked him to rebuild the temple after their captivity in Babylon, didn’t have much money, enemies attacked him, his own folks said he would fail, they even wrote letters to the king accusing him of things he didn’t do so they could discredit him and turn the king against him. That would certainly be cause for discouragement but here the Lord tells him He’s about to remove this mountain, and He has more to say to him this morning…FINISH it! Church, it doesn’t matter how you start, you will face adversity,heartache, opposition, the only thing that matters in the eyes of God is HOW you FINISH! Now you might feel as though this thing is too BIG, too HARD in your life and there is no way to fix it…BUT God.
[Gen 18:14 NIV] Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son. The Lord took a ninety-year-old woman with a barren womb and told her in the NEW year she would give birth to a son…NEW life. When you look at your own life what do you see that is too hard for God? Are you ninety years old? If you are it’s okay because with God it’s never too late-Ha! Or perhaps you feel as though what you’re looking for in this new year isn’t quite as big or as important as building a temple for God? Maybe you feel what you desire is too small? Maybe you feel as though God forgot about you? That’s what verse ten is saying, God is encouraging us NOT to despise the small things. There is NOTHING in your life that God considers too small or insignificant, He tells you that we will REJOICE! Now when do you usually shout and rejoice? When your discouraged? No…God says you will hold up the plummet and measure the completion of this small thing…rejoice. It might NOT be complete yet but by the grace of God it will happen, when? At His appointed time but it will happen. I don’t know what all you’re expecting this year or perhaps you’ve seen so much failure you’ve put on blinders to avoid any false hope, feel me? Well then, I pray God inspire you today and give you a new vision, new inspiration and new grace.
[Ezr 9:8 AMP] But now for a brief moment grace has been [shown to us] from the LORD our God, who has left us a surviving remnant and has given us a peg (secure hold) in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a little reviving… We only need a MOMENT of God’s grace to break through after we survived hardship but after that, He will give us a secure feeling never felt before and enlighten our eyes…see new hope and give us a little reviving…INSPIRATION. I pray that God would put a little skip in your step as He gives you security that His plan will NOT fail and He will see you through the FINISHLINE by His grace…finish it and whatever you do, don’t despise the small things in life.
Point to Ponder
So what’s the answer? [Col 4:6 KJV] Let your speech [be] always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. There really is only one answer ALWAYS if you believe in God…grace to ALL…finish strong!
