Good morning all!
Father, what do we have that Your hand hasn’t provided for us? What do we know that You haven’t made known? Where will we go where You have not gone before us? Lord, we pray that You would increase our trust, increase our faith and increase our wisdom that we would possess every promise You have established for us, Amen.
Joshua 18
1 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.
Now that the land was under Israelite control, the entire community of Israel gathered at Shiloh and set up the Tabernacle to thank God.
2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.
But there remained seven tribes who had not yet taken hold of their land.
3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long [are] ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?
Then Joshua asked them, “How long are you going to wait before taking possession the promise land the LORD God of your ancestors has promised to you?
Bottom line
What are we waiting for? It’s called the PROMISE land for a reason, you know what’s in there? ALL the promises of God. You know how you receive them? MOVE in-Ha! I can give you the keys to a brand new Ferrari but if you never get in it and drive it’s nothing more than a paper weight. Do you love God? Do you trust Him?
[Psa 118:8 KJV] [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. I think sometimes we feel more confident in what we think instead of what God said, the truth is we think we know what’s BEST for our life so we don’t LIVE in the promise land. How does God feel about that?
[Eze 20:6 NLT] I took a solemn oath that day that I would bring them out of Egypt to a land I had discovered and checked for them–a good land, a land flowing with milk and honey, the best of all lands anywhere. God is the one that made a covenant promise that He would give us the very BEST but we refuse to take it, why? I mean doesn’t the Creator of life know what’s BEST for our life? Of course, the answer is YES!!!
[Psa 18:30 NLT] God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. What if God’s protection is based on US living in that land, would you still live elsewhere? Now you know where NOT speaking of our geography, right? We’re speaking of God’s WAY…our lifestyle. The land is full of milk and honey, it’s FLOWS everywhere…mercy and truth. I mean can you live the WAY God lives without them?
[Psa 25:10 KJV] All the paths of the LORD [are] mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. If you want to find God, the only PATH you and I can find Him on is mercy and truth. But just like Israel we refuse to possess that WAY, that lifestyle. Why? There are so many reasons, excuses, obstacles, stubbornness, paper thin faith…but here’s the thing, apart from living in mercy and truth you will NOT find God, you will NOT find peace and you will NOT live your BEST life. You know why I trust God?
[Psa 63:3 NIV] Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. His love for US is BETTER than whatever life He’s given so why would we NOT trust Him when He will only provide the very BEST for us. Did you notice in Ezekiel what God said regarding the Promise land? If you don’t trust His love, then trust His eyesight…it says He went before them and found the land and then went in and checked it to make sure it was the very BEST. Never mind Century 21 we have the BEST agent in the world, God knows good when He sees it…He never settles for second best and He doesn’t want us to either. When we live in mercy and truth, you know what else you get?
[Num 18:12 KJV] All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the first fruits of them which they shall offer unto the LORD, them have I given thee. You and I receive the very BEST harvest of oil, wine and wheat. That life will produce the BEST harvest in you and I, don’t settle for second best…time to move in and claim your inheritance.
Point to Ponder
What’s on God’s mind this morning? [Psa 122:9 NLT] For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem. YOU!!!
Let’s all enter the promise land, In Him Phil
