Good morning, all!

Father, thank you for the breath of life You have given us today. Show us how to live a life worthy of Your calling, show Your will and purpose for our life so that we would glorify You. We know that Your design is perfect and without flaw, help us to shine bright that we would bring the world peace and joy, Amen.

Ezekiel 16

3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity [is] of the land of Canaan; thy father [was] an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.
God’s talking to the church, what happened? You think you’re born of this world, and your father is an amorite and your mom is a Hittite.

4 And [as for] thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple [thee]; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
After you were born nobody cut the umbilical cord, so you’re still connected to your momma, you weren’t cleaned up or cared for with any tenderness.

5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
Nobody had any compassion, instead you were left by yourself and were despised from the day you were born.

6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee [when thou wast] in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee [when thou wast] in thy blood, Live.
When I passed by you, I saw that you were polluted with your own blood and in your mess, I said LIVE, that’s right in your mess LIVE.

8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time [was] the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.
NOW when I see you, I knew it was TIME for you to know true LOVE so I covered YOU with my skirt, I covered your mess and I made a covenant with YOU and YOU became MINE.

Bottom line

We are all a byproduct of our mother and father, and we likely have some of the same traits, expressions and beliefs, right? In this passage God knows good and well that He is our Father and yet He tells us our father was an Amorite and mother a Hittite, why? Because our lives reflect their traits and expressions and NOT God. It’s like when your mom would tell you to close the door, what were you raised in a barn? HA! Well, that’s what God is saying to the church this morning, who is the Amorite and the Hittite? They were the enemies that we’re supposed to get out our land instead we became like them, the Amorite is PRIDE and the Hittite is FEAR. And when you LISTEN to them and NOT God, they have become your parents. Now notice the child they gave birth to, it produced a sense of rejection, a sense of guilt and shame and remember the cord was NOT cut from the mother so it’s living a life of fear. Pride will always produce fear, why? Because pride is always worried about getting hurt and offended, why do you think God considers them the enemy? It is the exact opposite of the nature and character of our true Father.

[Pro 15:33 NKJV] The fear of the LORD [is] the instruction of wisdom, And before honor [is] humility. God’s instruction for our life is to show humility by honoring others, this is wisdom in the eyes of God. Makes sense to me, pride will NOT honor others instead it elevates and protects itself and when that happens my father is an Amorite. Who do we honor?

[1Pe 2:17 KJV] Honour all [men]. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. Please take note of the order of God’s instruction this morning, who do we honor first ALL men or the king? You want to honor God this morning? Honor the people in your life first, that’s how we honor God. Your true Father said ALL! Why is this little baby covered in blood? Pride and fear gave birth to UNFORGIVENESS, no eye has found pity and it despised others. It’s kind of hard to honor all men if we don’t forgive them, right? When God tells us to LIVE, what do you think He’s telling us?

[Eph 4:18 AMP] For their [moral] understanding is darkened and their reasoning is clouded; [they are] alienated and self-banished from the life of God [with no share in it; this is] because of the [willful] ignorance and spiritual blindness that is [deep-seated] within them, because of the hardness and insensitivity of their heart. Here is the trainwreck inside of us, pride and fear harden our heart, and we are spiritually blind because we’re so worried about all the wrongs but remember that immature little baby is lying in it’s own mess. When we don’t forgive others or believe that YOU are forgiven, we ALIENATE ourselves from a life with God. Either way you’re living in darkness, and it has clouded your judgment for how you should LIVE. BUT there is restoration because God will NOT leave us in that mess, that state of mind, He looks at us and what is the first thing He does? He says it’s time for Me to LOVE you! And after He whispers that in our ear what does He do next? COVERS us, all of our guilt, shame, regrets, they all fall under the cover of heaven. And then He says He makes a covenant and says you are MINE. What’s the covenant and why does He say mine?

[Isa 54:5 KJV] For thy Maker [is] thine husband; the LORD of hosts [is] his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. WOW!!! The whole earth can say we have been REDEEMED from our mess because our Husband entered into the covenant of marriage with us and NO man can separate you from Him, you are MINE!

Point to Ponder

What is the FIRST thing we should do today? [Rev 2:4 NLT] But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love first me or each other as you did. The FIRST thing we do is love, after that nothing else really matters that much.
