Good morning all!
Father, we don’t always understand all that You are doing but we know that You are righteous and just. Help us Lord not to look at that which is seen but rather the things that are unseen, for we know that which is not seen has the final word, both now and forever, Amen
Psalm 41
9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me.
My good friend, the one I trusted the most, we shared many meals together, he has turned his back on me with the intent to hurt me.
10 But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
But you Lord know, be merciful to me, and lift me above the chaos that I might restore them.
11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
Lord I know you look at me with total acceptance because my enemy does NOT have the final word that belongs to YOU!
12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
As for me You are the One that holds me and sees my innocence, and You have set my face right in front of Yours forever.
Bottom line
As we know David wrote most of the Psalms, they have been quoted for thousands of years, you know why? RELATEABLE…they still speak to us today; they are best described as our relationship with God. David faced all kinds of different circumstances throughout life, good, bad, dangerous, confusing, chaotic, quiet, loud, lost, found…I’m sure by now I captured one you can relate with. And this is the basis for the Psalms, while circumstances in life can be erratic there is one constant through it all…GOD! The book of Psalm contains more chapters and verses than any other book in the Bible, why? I think God wrote that many because we often think God doesn’t understand us, He don’t understand what we go through or how we feel.
[Isa 29:16 AMP] You turn things upside down [with your perversity]! Shall the potter be considered equal with the clay, That the thing that is made would say to its maker, “He did not make me”; Or the thing that is formed say to him who formed it, “He has no understanding”? According to scripture we live in this reverse reality when we think God doesn’t understand what we’re going through or how we feel, how foolish? He created us, every fiber of our being has passed through the hands of the Almighty. The Bible calls that perverse thinking, because when we think like that we think it gives us license to do what we want instead of following God, after all He don’t understand me. It’s like the song by Genesis, “there must be some misunderstanding”. I can assure the misunderstanding has nothing to do with God and everything to do with us. I think this chapter truly is special, it’s at a time when David was betrayed by his own family but notice he does NOT complain, He doesn’t seek retaliation…NOPE, he seeks God with a pure heart. You know what makes his heart pure before God? First, he asks God for mercy, always a great place to start when we go before God. Second, he asks God to REQUITE them, it is the exact opposite of retaliation it means to enter into a covenant of peace with those that have hurt you…a pure heart. You didn’t expect God to hurt them back did you? God’s NOT a piece of clay-Ha! Hmm…I guess God is serious about forgiveness. You know how God teaches us how to forgive? He has someone close betray you…follow the pattern, Judas. Whatever adversity you face today just know you will TRIUMPH, what does that really mean?
[Pro 19:21 NLT] You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail. Not sure what you’ve been through, but God gets the FINAL word not the clay. Now if you get anything this morning get this, God will set your face before Him. When you face deep hurt God holds you by the face and says look at Me, look into the eyes of pure love and NOT your circumstance…tell me God don’t understand, He holds you up in those times and when you wonder what you did wrong He whispers you’re INNOECNT just look at ME! Remember God doesn’t look at the appearance of a man, the outer life…He knows most of the time it’s a façade, He looks at our thoughts and intent of our heart. Is it pure or perverse? Blessed are the PURE at heart for they are the ones that will SEE the face of God. Look for God today, He has something to say and this just in, He gets the final word.
Point to ponder
Do you really understand? [Psa 147:5 NIV] Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. Don’t matter what you understand just listen to the One with NO limits.
Let’s all give God the final word, In Him Phil
