Good morning, all!
Father, I pray the world would be still today and acknowledge the power of Your love. Let us remain silent before Your throne Lord, may the world experience the power of Your grace this weekend and know that this life has nothing to do with our goodness and everything to do with Who You are, Amen.
Matthew 27
11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.
Jesus was standing before Pilate, the governor of Rome. “Are you the king of the Jews?” the governor asked him. Jesus replied, that’s what you say.
12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
And when the priests in charge and the elders of the church made their accusations against him, Jesus said NOTHING.
13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?
Then Pilate said Don’t you hear all these charges they are bringing against you?”
14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.
But Jesus once again NEVER spoke a word, this really surprised Pilate.
Bottom line
The church folk brought a whole truckload of accusations against Jesus, and what was His defense? SILENCE!!! Have you ever been accused of something that wasn’t true? What was your defense? Probably NOT silence, right? We have to declare the truth because the truth will set you free-Ha! Jesus was truth and yet He never spoke a word. Why?
[Rev 8:1 KJV] And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. What if our silence is what opens the power of heaven? Would that change how we respond to one another? Would it change what we say or DON’T say when faced with adversity? Or do we still feel the need to defend ourselves? But what if that battle really does belong to the Lord? And what if God truly is for us who then can be against us? This is such a powerful example of a life of faith, and greater than that the POWER of faith…it is SILENT, it needs No defense, it needs NO response. In His darkest hour His legal defense required NO witnesses, NO attorneys, NO evidence, nope He traded it all for the power of heaven, He traded it to open the 7th and final seal. The key to the great mysteries of heaven is silence, it seems so simple and yet how hard is it to hold back the words we feel we need to speak to defend ourselves? To make our case? But what if our silence is our defense? And what if silence makes our case for us? Could this be the plan of God?
[1Ti 6:13-14 NIV] In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus made a GOOD confession before Pilate, what’s was good about it? It was SILENT. Jesus kept the Lord’s commandments because He chose silence over speaking a word against His accusers, His silence kept Him from spotting the reputations of His accusers, His silence offered NO words that might cast blame on those that spoke against Him. This truly is the power of heaven; to the world it makes NO sense, they believe you have to fight fire with fire, they believe you must defend their truth. But let me ask you a question, if we have to defend something then is it really the truth?
[1Co 1:18 KJV] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. This is the mystery of heaven, to some the cross seems foolish but to US who believe it is the POWER of God. Maybe that’s why the Lord says be QUICK to listen and SLOW to speak, new meaning, new life, new power. Is it possible your best legal defense is silence?
[Psa 62:1-2 AMP] For God alone my soul waits in silence; From Him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, My defense and my strong tower; I will not be shaken or disheartened. Your legal counsel says you should WAIT in SILENCE and NOT be shaken, for God ALONE is your defense…NO witnesses needed, I promise you have the BEST defense team ever.

What’s the debate? [Isa 30:15 NIV] This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. The SOVEREIGN Lord says our strength is found in QUIET and TRUST…NO point in arguing with Him.
