Good morning all!
Father, Your word declares where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty so awaken us. Awake Your spirit in us and set us free from every thought, every understanding and every nature that is not Yours. Help us to see as You see, help us to forgive as You forgive and help us to love as You love, Amen.
Isaiah 52
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
We will break into sudden song together; it will be filled with passion and energy because the waste places have been changed for God has delivered comfort.
10 The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
The Lord has put on a monster flex on for ALL the nations to SEE, even to the very ends of the world they will SEE salvation.
11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean [thing]; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.
Depart from Egypt and Assyria, have nothing to do with them anymore: GO andlive a CLEAN life, being instruments in the Lord’s hand for His good work.
12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you;and the God of Israel [will be] your rereward.
For you will no longer live with worry or fear; you now know the Lord goes before in all you do and He also covers you from behind so NO turning back.
Bottom line
Isaiah 52 opens with God telling His people to AWAKE, it’s literally our wake-up call. Only God can awaken the spirit inside man and when He does you’ll see life differently, you have greater understanding and with that comes greater strength. It’s as though God awakens a giant in you, you’re changed in a moment, in the twinkling of your eye…time to wipe the sleepy dust from our eyes and look a little higher. The first thing we do is sing a happy song, do you have a happy song? You know one that puts you in a good mood? But notice you don’t sing alone, God says sing TOGETHER…restoration. With this awakening comes redemption, what has he
redeemed us from? The WASTE places. What are the waste places? That’s you and I wasting our God given power, you know you have the power of God, right?
[2Co 13:4KJV] For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God in you. How did we waste the power of God? We made Egypt and Assyria our STRENGTH, we are called to depart from that lifestyle. It captures us like prisoners and causes us to live a life that is unclean and without the power of God.
[Jer 2:18 NIV] Now why go to Egypt to drink water from the Nile? And why go to Assyria to drink water from the Euphrates? We partake of the Nile…PRIDE and then we partake of the Euphrates…SELFISHNESS. What else would God consider a waste place? There is nothing more unclean than pride and selfishness. Notice Pride comes first…thoughts that say I’m just a little better than and once we think that what comes next? Well, if I’m a little better than I probably deserve a little more…selfish. They are both so subtle, just like a serpent, it never comes at once but over time it whispers in our ears a little more day after day. Imagine if God told you can have anything you want except for this one thing, wouldn’t we be happy? Don’t answer that, Adam and Eve had everything total paradise and prosperity, but this one tree don’t eat…and so it goes. Pride and selfishness go hand in hand, they are the only enemies of the kingdom of God…there are 6 things the Lord hates, a PROUD look…it’s #1 for a reason, ain’t nothing good coming after that. But notice it is God’s holy ARM that redeems us, it is God alone that pulls us from this oppressive nature, this life full of worry and fear. What did you think pride and selfishness were going to produce? Once God saves us, we don’t go out with haste and flight…hmm, that sound familiar.
[Jon 1:6 NIV] The captain went to him and said, “How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish. God told Jonah, don’t waste your talent go save the people of Nineveh but Jonah thought he was BETTER than them and they didn’t DESERVE God. He went out with haste and jumped on a boat to flee from God, and when they found him during the storm he was SLEEPING…uh oh, wake up call. We all run from God at some point in our life but it’s okay, notice He is in front of us and behind us, and when it’s time, He will awaken you, just be prepared because he’s probably going to use a storm.
Point to Ponder
What about the rivers of Egypt and Assyria? [Zec 10:11 NKJV] He shall pass through the sea with affliction, And strike the waves of the sea: All the depths of the River shall dry up. Then the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, And the scepter of Egypt shall depart. Looks like God sent a storm to dry them up…complete salvation.
Let’s all awaken the gift inside, In Him
